I dont really like nations at all... dont like nationalism
or patriotism at all, they're so narrow minded - in my
opinion.

Patriotics make me think of people keeping conspiracies in
the dark

Ceri,

'totalitarian regime' wo thats a bit extreme. I don't want a
totalitarian regime, just a few old values need to be
brought back like cadet training and corporal punishment in
schools, that'll sort things out. Sure there are plenty of
'want something for nothing people' in the UK which is
boring but thats mainly because they're eaten up with
jealously so really thats their own punishment.

lizardfister,

Get real. What a load of bull. We made the world. The only
reason you've got to be ashamed about being English is the
bloody football hooligans and plebs who get pissed and fight
abroad.

uzim,

Yes you're probably right, not much reason to feel proud
about being French. Lol.

Some words from the Emerald Isle... the e-generation, as far
as i can see, is much less patriotic than how i remeber
things being in the 80´s.... and jolly fucking good it is
now too.

by the way, i dedest irish pub culture abroad anyway. I
think its fucking awfull hearing of freinds just hanging
around irish pubs when visiting Oz, England, the States...
sad bastards

Only sports-wise... I cried when Canada won the hockey Gold
in 2002, and almost blew my load when Anson Carter scored
against Sweden a couple weeks ago.

Otherwise, nah, not really... although I'm always quick to
point out how great my country is in general. We rule.

erm yeah thats what i said.

fighting abroad is, how you said, "made the world". we went
over killed and maimed and forced countries to be
subordinate to us and held them back from their own
potential. i disagree that we made the world. we helped
shape and modernise the world by introducing inventions,
industry, farming etc. etc. but we also created a colony
mentality that that is now so outmoded it is going to
ostracise us from the rest of the world (along with
america). we can't continue to tell nations to do what we
want as we are not the power we were.

i am ashamed because of the way we are conceived around the
globe as being these colonial bastards due to the way our
government and tourists act. they are our ambassabors - and
they are poor in the extreme.

I support the people I care about, and people who I think
are good. I don't give a fuck about national pride. I just
want to live a happy life and I will kill to make sure I am
happy :D

oh.....don't forget we were a part of the destruction of the
nazi's a short while ago . and don't have a culture that
opresses women . don't confuse the people who reside in the
country with the arseholes who ran or in still run it and
then fucked others in thier greed

yes I am, a bit... not crazy like some Americans, but I am
definitely proud to be Canadian... what can I say, I love my
country... I don't love everything about it... the
government sucks, the weather sucks (Newfoundland in
particular), and the exchange rate sucks... but still, the
good outways the bad in my opinion... I just feel great
about being Canadian...

do I care much about our anthem or flag? No... actually I
think both suck... but I think it's kind of stupid to put so
much importance into those things... I love my country
because it's beautiful, the people are great, and I like our
overall philosophy (to a certain extent), not because of our
flag or anthem...

I agree... and all in favor of changing the anthem to say I.
I. Ok, my vote counts for 45 million so our new anthem will
be...Whats the Buzz.

I like the natural beauty of this country.

I'd die for freedom, not America - the land where you're
free to do as you're told.

Hmm...its a swedish track originally! But what the
heck...you already got a swedish d00d running you footie
team so why not take a swedish song as a national anthem
too... ;)

You can like your country (or aspects of it) without being
right wing about it I reckon...

1. I don't support a strong central government
2. I don't support social programs
3. I don't support the military
4. I don't support anyone that I have no reason to
support.
5. I think the USA should just drop the name down to
"America", much easier and less cheesey sounding.
6. No, I am not patriotic.
