That turns my stomach. But what do you expect. Now that
there's no draft in the states, the people who join tend to
be human waste.

our police arested a US marine about 10 days ago. this us
carrier came directly from persian gulf to restock (i think)
in our harbour...when they left (some 4 days later) they
reported that this guy didnt return to the ship and ask our
police to help find him...finally they found him hiding in
some girl's appartment because apperantly they fell in love
any the guy didnt wont to leave here - this was all
happening before the war officialy ended so the guy would be
treated like he deserted by the US army (i think there's a
death penalty for such offense)...
anyway this guy wasnt under any offense in our country
(except for being without his passport or any other
documents) so they let hih go...i havent heard what happened
to him now...perhaps he and his girl are living happily
together hehe

if you werent so ready to pounce upon the United States,
note that aid-workers "claim" the US did it. And they have
held it off now...case closed.

Yeah, I'm sure it was the aid workers who spraypainted a
Marines logo on an ancient city, then tried to blame it on
those highly educated and cultured Marines who would never
do such a thing.

"The most prominent monument is the best preserved ziggurat
- stepped pyramid - in the Arab world, initially built by
the Sumerians around 4000 BC and restored by Nebuchadnezzar
II in the sixth century BC.

The Pentagon has elected to build its massive and
potentially permanent base right alongside the site, so that
the view from the peak of the ziggurat - more or less
unchanged for 6,000 years - will be radically altered."

You think that's a false claim by aid workers?

D'ya here about that "rescue" of that female soldier? It was
all bollocks.
The army came to the hospital 2 days before they staged the
rescue and asked if there were any Iraqi soldiers around.
The doctors told them no. 2 days later they came swoopin in
with helicopters and cameras rolling and took her away.

The US claimed she had knife and gun shot wounds when the
doctors swore blind she only had broken limbs (from a RTA).
In fact, the doctors gave her the only specialist bed in the
hospital and some of the docto

Oops!

... In fact, the doctors gave her the only specialist bed in
the hospital and some of the doctors even gave her their own
blood.

Now she's a hero and the troops are heroes and we can all
sleep at night safe in the fact that the US army will always
save the day.

USA! USA! USA!

They should knock down that nasty old ziggurat and build the
Halliburton offices there with a nice big executive toilet
for Dick Cheney to empty himself into after eating Freedom
Fries.

Let's face it...that old shit isn't worth any money at all
so why be bothered about "preserving" it...In my opinion the
only way to move forward is to completely destroy the past.

Panorama (about the Neo Cons who's ideas just happen to be
taken up by Bush -- but they have NO influence or power of

It was very interesting -- quite a few journalists saying
that they were basically told what to say by the military -
and how the embedded journalists had to "be nice" to the
troops they were with since they were the ones feeding and
housing them during the war. Also, it talked about the
rescue of private Lynch, as Peloton talked about earlier.

offline GIR from Easton on 2003-05-19 08:36 [#00705270]

describe nice..this interests me...you are aware that there
are certain media restrictions if they are traveling with
troops during a war?

offline Peloton from London (United Kingdom) on 2003-05-19 08:52 [#00705296]

If there are restrictions then can a journalist be objective
and impartial?

Is there much difference between the restrictions placed by
the Pentagon and those placed by the Iraqi andministration?

yes, the journalists said it was an almost impossible battle
to report objectively -- hate to think of what it was like
for US reporters

ooooh you said that "H" word!! silly, Halliburton has
absolutely NOTHING to do with iraq, they are absolutely NOT
capitalizing on this war and anything you hear about them
controlling iraqi oil fields or contributing to their
economic destabalization is a lie, i tell you, a big fat
lie!!!! why does everyone have to pick on such an innocent
company like little old Halliburton? :(

I was talking about this company with my mum (who used to
work for Brown & Root -- now a part of Halliburton), and she
practically threw me out of the house, ranting about how she
used to work there (as a secretary) so she knew better than
me! Needless to say, it prompted icy relations between her
and I

yeah, i agree with corrupted girl (you still haven't
explained why the old lady in your avatar!), the chimp site
is pretty insulting - to primates, that is! i mean,
honestly, if i were a monkey, i would be majorly insulted if
someone compared me to george dubya! that man (or thing,
rather) doesn't belong in the human race, let alone among
primates, who, unlike us, don't slaughter one another en
masse nor have they weapons of mass destruction.

No need to insult his looks.. it's very meaningless.

"Mesopotamia is where writing and reading started"

hmm, could it be that the U.S. troops are destroying
priceless treasures of the entire human civilization because
Dubya is functionally illiterate?!? see below for proof that
reading & writing just ain't his thang!

BUSHISMS

this site is also pretty dope:

DUMBYA
though the nostradamus quote is pretty scary, come to think
of it (scroll down to the bottom for this one)

p.s. corrupted-girl - much more appropriate avatar - far
more corrupted than the last one! but are you in fact a
greasy, balding middle-aged chubby male who prays on
innocent xltronic.com users?!? you never know about identity
and all on the net.

sorry to say, but 80-year old grandmas just don't look very
corrupted to me! ... that is, unless they're gorging on
newborn infant flesh while dressed in bondage gear and
involved in some sort of a pseudo-satanic ritual. but there
