well i am glad to hear that second hand smoke doesn't cause
cancer, if that is actually the case anyhow. but let me
just say, i reek like smoke for hours afterwards if someone
is smoking in my car with all of the windows open while i'm
racing down the freeway on a windy day. but, no big deal,
it is a friend, i'll live through it. it would piss me off
to a great extent to have to come home from WORK and
wash/dry my hair, change my clothes, put my previous clothes
through the wash...etc. and when it's a coworker...well, i
have a hard time being agreeable and productive with a
person who causes this, because, i probably don't like them
much in the first place.

I think ultimately, passive smoking isn't particualrly good
for your health. The thing that really annoys me is that
councils are so eager to accept any research that links
passive smoking with cancer as fact and then introduce
ridiculous no-smoking policies based round it. When some
research is produced that says it doesn't cause cancer they
reject it point blank and say that the research is rigged. I
just want to know the truth. I don't want to affect other
people's health with my smoking. I just don't know whether I
am or not.

Smoking is a fucking disgusting habit. Second hand smoking
DOES cause Cancer, one of my old friends' granddad killed
his wife through smoking throughout their marriage...

Read the article fuckwit. Then decide. Just because one of
your cousin's aunties friends who used to live down the road
from a girl who went to school with his big big sister died
does not make it proof. One of my friends was killed by a
black guy. That makes all black guys murderers using your
logic, right?

It should be noted that this research was part-funded by the
tobacco industry.

And if anyone is in any doubt, remember Roy Castle RIP. No
more London Marathons for that trumpet-blowing muthafucka.

I don't get the whole roy castle thing. He was BLOWING the
trumpet at these clubs. Not inhaling.

Medication, medication, medication is what you need.

It was probably funded by the Tobbaco firms becuase the
tobacco firms wanted a fair study into passive smoking.
Unlike all the skewed reports all these anti-smoking
fascists seem to produce. Also, the British Medical Journal
printed the article. Are they on B&H's payroll as well?

I'm not saying that they don't want the research to come to
a certain conclusion. Obviously they do. But does that
automatically make the results of the study false? This was
the largest and longest study into passive smoking ever
carried out. And the results are - it causes fucking
NOTHING. All these fucking fascists who were proposing
wide-scale smoking bans everywhere - pubs, restaurants, etc
have had their fucking schadenfreuden grins wiped off their
smug faces. You've got to pick on someone else now, you
fucking fascist bastards! Passive smoking is no more
dangerous than passive farting - fact.

There's nothing like perceived wisdom, is there?

I may have said this before but THIS IS THE BIGGEST AND
LONGEST RESEARCH INTO PASSIVE SMOKING EVER! The other
research is redundant - skewed results, manipulated figures,
etc. This is THE definitive research and it proves there is
NO LINK. NONE WHATSOEVER. This is not a rupert murdoch
concoction. This is worldwide news. Look at this
if you don't believe me.

There was a time when we thought the sun revolved around us
and that the world was flat.

How do we know this research is valid and are we presented

i don't believe passive smoking is completely harmless
but neither do i understand the big deal some people make of
it

personally smokers don't bother me at all, i think it's
pretty silly that smoking is banned in more and more places

here in holland they want to try and ban smoking everywhere
in the train
i don't get that, it works fine now imo, people who don't
want to smoke go to the non-smoking part of the train,
people who smoke or people who don't mind others smoking go
to the smoking-part of the train
why change that?

nb i don't smoke

what a load of wank

tobacco smoke contains toxins and hazardous chemicals ->
inhaling it causes diseases

whats so tough to understand about it... inhaling tar
vapours makes you ill as well right... even if someone else
inhaled the vapours first...

a way to decide whether this is true is to smoka e a
ciggerette with someone, but instead of them hitting it they
inhale what you exhale. if the person gets a buzz then you
are wrong. if not, then you are right?

Perceived wisdom, LOL...if you want skewed data, I suggest
you actually take a look into how this "study" was
conducted...not much of a scientist are you? One study with
contradictory results automatically invalidates all those
many others....???? LMFAO
