just picked up one of their albums... good fragmented
beats, kind of a mix between Ae and Plaid but also with a
few MC's.. any other fans?

Yeah, I think that's their only full-length of their own
material. They do a lot of remixes, which doesn't really
interest me as much.

by the way, get "marion" by michael fakesch (a member of
funkstorung)... mostly for tracks 2 and the 2nd to last
track (the rest are good but not as good as appetite, while
those two are BETTER than appetite, especially the 2nd to
last track. I wish every one was as good as that track.)

SHIT!

I thought this was going to be a topic about some new evil
superhero, called Dr. Funkstrong..

but alas! no.

I go home, my hands empty.

i thought there might be 5% chance of this topic being about
a new funkstorung release .. alas no. should have guessed
from the lack of exclamation marks in the title.

AFD is quite nice

I only linked them to Plaid strictly for some of the
melodies on AFD.. but Funks melodies are also a bit more
broken up and darker than Plaid's. Definitely have chaistic
slide style beats though :)

Chris de Luca's "Deadly Wiz da Disco" kicks some serious
shit too

it's a shame they only got one proper album of original
material. theyre way overdue for a 2nd lp.

i agree for that michael fackesch suggestion (marion), it's
pretty good.

for more melodic funkstorung, i suggest aemic (fakesch with
estermann).

deadly wiz da disco is definately not in the same league as
appetite for disktruction..

you mean quality-wise? or stylistically?

ive been playing that one steadily for the last 5 months or
so. a lot more hiphop-flavoured.

It sucks. The lyrics suck. The quality sucks. At least
that's the impression I got from the small amount of time I
bothered to give it. It's typical.
