hmmm, I said YOU have every right to be disrespectful... but
I didn't mean you in particular, I really meant anyone...
sorry...

might the devil not give valuable input on how to seek
enlightenment by clarifying error?

to you... but Christianity views it as more... whether you
believe that or not is up to you...

i said a healthy fear, there is a difference in that type of
fear. i meant the type of fear that leads me to make sound
decisions and overcome adversity.

and i wish some people in here would go LOOK UP the word
enlightenment one time. it means EXPADING your mind.

heh, I always seem to get dragged into these discussions
about religion...

no. the devil is nothing.

i don't listen to him.

he digs his own grave.

Christians view it as more because its their security
blanket, without the Bible they are totally lost because
they cant think for themselves. Its a crutch. It was written
by the imprefect hand of man, not God himself.

funk: i was just trying to make a recommendation i KNEW no
one else was gonna make. hehehe :)

weathered: what's got you so angry? what is it you think God
did to you? to not believe something is one thing, but you
are genuinely hateful about this...

i dislike CHURCHES, not ideas or spirits or good thoughts

zebra: ah, but God DOES correct his children.... if you love
someone or something, do you let it hurt itself, or do you
try everything you can to help it?

offline tibbar from harrisburg, pa (United States) on 2003-05-09 22:17 [#00692516]

neeta: i also have an aversion to churches... it's more
about the social aspect for me... i can't dig what
"christian culture" has become.

"funk: that is ALSO very dangerous... that is how things
like jehova's witnesses, mormons, and catholicism got
started.

people decided they figured out their OWN interperetation of
God's word and ran with that. VERY dangerous"

nod... I do agree with that... I do also think things need
to be questioned... I'm just trying to figure out what I
believe...

offline tibbar from harrisburg, pa (United States) on 2003-05-09 22:19 [#00692519]

like i said: questioning is good. it is encouraged in the
Bible itself.

tibbar, you miss my point about the devil. i mean that you
can learn from others mistakes without making them yourself.

and how is it possible to read the bible without
interpreting it? the old debate, whose interpretation is
the correct one?

you think your fear is healthy, because you believe that you
must fear. what could you possibly fear?

you dig your grave, or you build your altar.

I am not angry and I am very close to the ONE TRUE GOD, not
the God created by Christians to serve their own selfish
need.

of course you help however you can, tibbar. but a child
must learn to walk, without a parent holding her up.

hahahahahaha ok.

so what did you name your "god"?

i made a point before you said what you said, tibbar. you
responded to my point in a way that seemed to miss the point
i had made.

He has no name, even the name of "god" is an insult. We are
all bound by his laws and whether or not you choose to
realize it is totally different. I'm am part of no religion,
I am part of reality which is simply what I can
see,hear,touch,think,etc... nothing more.

anyone know? No one does... all belief in this type of thing

The truth is: there is no truth.

You can lead a Christian to knowledge, but you cannot make
him think.

nod, this is all about personal belief... we seem to forget
that I think when discussing about religion, which is
probably why it usually ends with people getting angry...
it's all personal... you believe what you choose to believe,
for your own reasons...

weathered: no one held a gun to your head. you may leave
anytime. unless you want to disprove yourself any more than
you have.

PS: god is love. you seem to have missed this point
entirely, as you have been MOST rude and hatefilled.

well then "stoner", why don't you go write off newton and
einstein, since you obviously know more than those mean
did... and btw, satan doesn't count as a god.

offline plaidzebra from so long, xlt on 2003-05-09 22:37 [#00692561]

tibbar, if god is love, then your ability to accept god's
love is the same as your willingness to give it. you cannot
accomplish this through judgement; this power of judgement
is not given you.

It makes me as rigid as someone who says there is no such
thing as the easter bunny, there is no such thing as santa
claus, etc. There is no such thing as God, there is no such
thing as ghosts. I don't believe things I know them, a
large difference between superstitious people and I.

Belief is just declaring something to be true in your mind
without reason to.

i suspect that much of what you know, mappa, is what you

If you'd listen, I'm not talking about any sort of knowledge
that I have. I'm talking about things that don't exist at
all, which is a different thing.
