The thing who many of you don't know is that i started to love AFX just in Jannuary 2001! first of that, i knew only come to daddy and windowlicker video, but one day i downloaded "i care because you do" and something from SAW 85-92, and finally I discovered the real genius called RDJ and then all braindance music. I discovered Autechre, Plaid and BoC near X-mas 2001 (thanks to phob for his mail advices).
And what about you?

I listened the The Prodigy as part of my first phase of the above list. But I think they have got progressively worse with each release so far.

Started with Madonna. Soon got bored (with the music, not the lady)... but funnily enough because of her collaboration in the early 90s with dance producers like Shep Pettibone and Bjork...I started listening to Bjork. Then moved to Tricky and Goldie (her boyfriends around that time) and from them into downtempo and jungle. Also simultaneously heard some 20th century classical music by Glass and Reich. From there it was a short jump to IDM. Started with AFX, moved on to Squarepusher and Plaid. Discovered Ae only after EP7. From then on it has been a crazy ride.

"I heard 'analogue bubblebath' and 'digeridoo' on 'In order

hey what a coincidence, that's exactly the same story as how I came into contact with Aphex Twin... I think digeridoo still sounds as great as it did back then
