ROTK, over 4 hours long?

Take it for what its worth but I've gotten the following
information from a pretty reliable scoop who has seen the
rough cut of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. He tells
me this:

1. It is indeed, far and way better than both Fellowship and
Two Towers.
2. It was a 4 hour, 20 minute cut of the film.
3. Feeling that he has proven audiences will gladly sit for
3 hours of quality cinema, Peter Jackson will try to leave
the film's 1/6 of a day total time as is.

Again, don't take it for fact, but it's definetly some
information that will cause a stir. 4 hours of "better than
the first two" filmmaking.

well I surely wouldn't mind that. My guess is they will cut
it back to somewhat over 3 hours and leave the 4+ hour cut
for the lush DVD.

andy warhol made a 24 hour long movie. I've heard that it
sucked. Not because it was 24 hours long...but just that it
was soooo bad that it sucked. Big time.

4 hours don't seem so bad now, does it ?

4 hours for The Return of the King? The longer the better I
say... this is like my most anticipated movie, ummm, EVER...
the more, the better!!! Hell, make it 6 hours and I'd go see
it twice!

at a theater though.. save that for the dvd. what's next,

a 4 hour movie should have a little break I think... an
intermission type of deal...

yippee!!

in this case the MORE movie and xtras on the DVD the
better!! yea my ass would grow roots in the theatre with a
movie that long, but at home you can have an intermission or
TWELVE!

p. jackson has just made a magical place to escape to.....i
can hardly wait!!!!

ROTK: 4hour and 20 Minute Running Time? FALSE!
5/09/03, 12:39 pm EST - Xoanon

Here is a report that comes from VERY reliable sources
within the LOTR camp. In regards to this story we posted
yesterday (which wasn't even our story, it came from another
site). Take a look at what our insider has to say:

This is nonsense. They are still cutting the movie and do
not know how long it will be, but it definitely won't be
4hrs & 20 minutes, nor should it be.

That knocks that rumor out the window, down the street and
into someone's pot of flowers!

I can't wait!!!

If you look at one of the early lotr trailers you can see
two small glimpses of ROTK.
One is when Merry is on his knees offering his service to
Denethor and the other is of Saurons HUMONGOUS! army
moving.
Its like 1.5 sec alltogether but it's enough to make me wet
my godamn pants!!!

"andy warhol made a 24 hour long movie. I've heard that it
sucked. Not because it was 24 hours long...but just that it

was soooo bad that it sucked. Big time. "

i think you're talking about "empire", the highlight i
believe is when the shadow of an airplane slowly moved
across it

the point wasn't to watch the movie really, the idea is that
if you concentrate on something for so long your mind
wanders and you start to hallucinate, much like an isolation
tank, or whatever those things are called that i cant
remember. sensory deprovation tanks. thats it.
