do you have a certain place you go to
relax/meditate/think?

Mine is the reflecting pool, at the Christian Science Center
in Boston MA.

Im not religious... its just the most beautiful and tranquil
place.

I sit on the marble blocks, and just observe its beauty...

in my white couch when the sun for 4 hours straight warms it
up, and the view of the mountains and the sky can be seen
from the window.

at home it was the local airport.

I'd just drive out the field and sit and watch, listen,
absorb.

here, well, it's the library :(

*raises left eyebrow*

usually my bedroom, but the Barnes & Noble bookstore or
Borders are excellent places for this.

there are several beautiful landscapes where i live (Alaska)
too, so there are many options.

yeah. And when my cat is walking around playing and BoC is
in my stereo (and some times the occasional joint in my
hand), it really is peaceful. The only downer is that
there's a very trafficked road outside.

I don't ever really need to relax and sit down and do
nothing but sometimes I liek to go on jogs around the
neighbourhood or like 3 hour walks.
A Saturday noon walk in the sun with some Prefuse 73 playing
is a really good way to refuel.

The meadow across from my house. They got rid of the cows
last spring so I can sit down at any time without
hesitation.. That's probably the only pie I -don't- like.

Nowhere stationary, really... I guess there's a bench under
a staircase at my uni that I do work on and read between
classes and I'm seemingly the ONLY person that even knows
it's there. My theory is, everybody knows how tough I am and
that it's MY territory.

I do my thinking in the car, long drives... I'll find any
excuse to go for a drive out in the country, particularly
during sunset. Bring some mixed tapes and I'm off. Sometimes
I'll just drive around town. I run at least one red light
per trip, so I guess I should look for a thinking place
where lives aren't at stake.

There's also a fountain and a bench up in the cemetary in my
backyard, it's on a hill and you can see the whole city...
the whole ugly expanse. Gravestones are a natural
anti-depressant for me, and anytime I see one knocked over I
get upset and so pissed off at humanity.

Well, I USED to go in the graveyard, it's been a half year
or so since the last time... it's basically the car now. I'm
too lazy to do the hike through the woods, it's so steep and
the paths have grown over now that I'm not a frequent
visitor. That's depressing, seeing a beaten path die.

On a sunday if the weather is good I like to walk around
Shibuya and Yoyogi Park in Tokyo.. there are so many young
people hanging out and doing their thing - music/ street
culture / drumming/dancing/ juggling/ playing ball /
fleamarkets / dressing up in freaky clothes/ street comedy -
just spontaneous youth and creativity and no cynical wankers
to fuck it all up.

For a while it is beautiful and you forget how twisted and
fucked up this whole country is...
