The plans to attack Iracq again dated from 1997, the USA was
just waiting for a new pearl harbor (11 september) to
attack. It was a fact that Bush had the knowledge of the big
possiblity for a terror attack to the USA. What about the
fake proves of Powel for iracq a couple of months ago?

yeah I've made that link between WTC and Pearl Harbor
before; definately something fishy about that whole 9/11
situation.

the united states government had developed plans to invade
afghanistan months before 9/11. however, bear in mind that
the us military drafts all sorts of preparatory tactical
strategies, including military invasion. perhaps most
infamous were the plans to invade canada (this was years
ago). there never was a real intent to invade canada, but
nevertheless a military strategy was developed for that
scenario. if you think there's something fishy about 9/11,
read this:

we're doomed because of them... they are likely to be cause
of all our deaths. Because they're brainwashed as a mass;
brainwashed into Patriotism, brainwashed into viewing The
President as some kind of minor deity, brainwashed into
believing anything they're told. As a mass. I hope that the
minority, who fight this, can somehow succeed. But I'm not
quite as optimistic as I used to be... someone just needs to
nuke Texas - it won't COMPLETELY solve the problem, but
hell, it'll be a big help and it would lead to MANY
celebrations throughout the world -- think of South Central
LA the day THAT happens!! party mania!

Hi plaidzebra, i saw you are from the USA. How do you feel
the public opinion in the USA? I think it is difficult to
get a clear opinion like you as an american. People must be
brainwashed by the unilateral press.

yes, everyone here should read "manufacturing consent."

artemis, i'm not exactly sure i understand your questions.
brainwashing might be too strong a word. the united states
is a huge county, and despite the invasive consumer
monoculture, there is a lot of variety.

if i had to simplify why i think many americans are turning
a blind eye to the malignant agenda of their government, i
think americans are taught to trust very deeply in the
american form of government in public schools. questioning
the government is seen as anti-american.

i think the united states government uses very sophisticated
tools of manipulation, with the deceptive label "public
relations."

the corporate media in the us is profit driven, and the
government supplies a lot of valuable info to be sold, as in
"operation iraqi freedom." the media are most interested in
maintaining the status quo, despite embracing the occasional
progressive cause.

most americans have been sealed off from the rest of the
world for quite some time, and have a very distorted
viewpoint. now, having been attacked, americans feel
threatened and fearful, and nationalism surges. "god bless
america" signs are everywhere.

americans look for a big brother to protect them from the
bully. they naturally assume that the government's
interests are their interests. they never learned about the
secretive intelligence apparatus in school. they are not
aware of the contempt that many of their leaders have for
them. they let big brother take control of their lives.
they relinquish their freedom.

it's important to remember, also, that these people have
jobs, and homes, and children, and family that they want to
protect. like most people, they want stability, coherence,
and a little predictability. it's as hard for you to put
yourself in their position as it is for them to put
themselves in anyone else's position. please exercise
compassion.

before you attack americans, or see them as scary, please
try to exercise your compassion. you don't blame the
passengers on a plane that's been hijacked, do you?
unfortunately, americans have mistaken the hijackers for the
rescue team.

where i live, there are many people who originated in
scandinavia, and somalia, and viet nam, and mexico, and
various african countries, and countries all over the world,
and there are native american people, and they are all of
them americans. don't judge them by the sins of their
government, forgive them their complacency.

note the "just about", and not all americans. Though i do
disagree with bush's policies (this is all their
administrations fault), fighting fire with fire doesnt help
anything.

I don't have a problems with Americans. They are partly a
product of their environment, and their environment is run
by a bunch of power hungry idiotic evil bastards in
Washington. America is the scariest country on the planet

you could argue that americans have been bribed with
enormous wealth to turn a blind eye to the government's
misbehavior.

blatant echo, who are you addressing? your comment reminds
me of the old reactionary right wing bumper sticker:
"America, love it or leave it!"

of course, why question the government on anything? obey or

dont point blame is my point, this is how history runs
itself, the same countries make the same mistakes(US is the
child of Britains original ideals, whether many people
accept that or not), and if you do want to make a
difference, FOR FUCKS SAKE ACT IT OUT! Dont sit there and
say "Well, I did protest that one day...that should be
enough"...for fucks sake I doubt any of you get off the
couch...prolly listen to another's opinion and then base
your own off that...so who really is being brainwashed?

answer:both sides

thank you.

re: the article.

yep so what. i mean thats also what were being told to
expect

not to say that its not true (cant with my knowledge) but
its written very much like a piece of damning evidence.
almost anti american propaganda

so i hope this article does not represent the majority view
in america.

from the outset of the article it says 'we should be
controlling the whole world rather than resting on our
laurels', or words to that effect. could someone actually
believe that?
