Well, someone complained to the Independent Television
Commission:

Channel: CHANNEL U

Date & time: Wednesday 19 March: 12.15pm

Complaint from: 3 viewers

Issue

Three viewers complained that a series of unsuitable music
videos, including 'Windowlicker' by Aphex Twin, were
broadcast around midday. These videos included scenes of
nudity, swearing, violence and drug-taking.

Assessment

Channel U explained that a technical failure resulted in
videos classified for broadcast only after 10pm being shown
during the day (the ITC also received complaints about
unsuitable advertising shown at the same time). Channel U
very much regretted this error and confirmed it had
immediately amended its systems to avoid a repetition of
this incident.

The ITC accepted Channel U's explanation and its apology.
Nevertheless the videos were unsuitable for broadcast at
this time and had caused offence.

Conclusion

There was a breach of Section 1.2 of the Programme Code
(family viewing policy).

Hmm, unless they showed the uncensored version, there
wouldn't be any swearing...

no nudity, no drug taking either as I recall, or violence
(comical car crash aside).

Seems some old fogey has nothing better to do than watch
daytime TV. They deserve all they get }:D

Some of the language in the video is quite "blue".

haha jesus, don't they see that the beginning of that
windowlicker video is a parody on all those rap videos

i think it's more funny than unsuitable

Whatever way you slice it, the video is quite disturbing and
at 12:15pm I do feel it is unsuitable viewing. I for one
would not like my 5 year old niece to view it, for example.

What the fuck is channel u, anyway?

One of the 20 or so music channels on Sky Digital.

I'm just glad there's a channel out there actually showing
an Aphex Twin video!
