okies......so anyone seen this?? what did you think?
i know it's been around FOevah but i just saw this FINE film today (eventhough Gene Hackman is one of my fav actors)
and i thought it was so good. he was such a brutal cop, and the CHASE scene (which i believe is one of the BEST in filmdom) was soooooo edge of my seat!
damn......good stuff!

he was also in a western with leonardo dicaprio called the quick and the dead. at the same time that in all reality it sucks, i kinda liked it.

Yeah French COnnection is a classic =) Gene Hackman's performance is mindblowing. I like the funky clothes in those movies too hehe!

hahah that hat was classic, and the clothes were mega 70's......ahhahahah
i've seen Ronin.....i liked it as well. i could tell it had some inspriation from this film......especially those cool chase scenes......i think i secretly wanna drive a car around the city streets like that!!!
ok....so is it just me or when you see 'orange barrells' on the city streets....you have this overwhelming urge to drive in and out of them like an obstical course? heheheheh

That's why you think Ronin is a poor man's French connection. I can't really say anything about the French connection II, it's been too long since I have seen it.

yeh fucking great.
it has also been referenced in tons of other films. that alone should make it required watching for "movie buffs."
ronin has some amazing car chase scenes. thats the only reason i bought it.

i've seen the Ronin DVD for like 6 bucks......so it's worth buying just for the pretty scenery.....hahahah
but yea.....i feel kinda bad i waited so long to see it, i do watch a fair amount of movies!
tolstoyed you've seen frenchy II, should i rent it....does it tie up loose ends?

if you enjoyed the 1st part you might like the 2nd one as well-but it really isnt some great movie so if you get a chance to see it for easy money...i saw it quite some time ago (i think i have it on VHS somwhere),im not sure about those loose ends-i think it wasnt all that connected to the first part

thanks......i think i'll prolly rent it (can get it for a dollar at the video store) anything with hackman is worth a run through!
btw......i loved Rami's the Quick and the DEAD......it was meant to be campy......and Sharon Stone is so beautiful and kicked ASS.......plus i didn't mind watchin' Russell Crowe there.....=0)

btw, im more into comedies these last two days-i watched snatch (farina is just brilliant) and lock stock and two smoking guns today again
oh and i also saw shipping news for the first time-it was really nice as all hallstroms films that i saw so far...it made want to go to newfoundland :)

my BF saw the shipping news......he liked it to.
i need to watch 'lock stock and two smoking barrells' i watched it too late in the night and missed a LOT of it......i heard it was funny.
so wow they turn POPEYE into a junkie.....damn i'm gonna rent that bad boi
on the roster for this weekend is "jude" a movie based on the hardy novel 'jude the obscure' and "immortality" a flick with JUDE LAW (i just got it cos he's in it.......looks like a vamp movie tho) i'll let you know what i think!!
