Poll: Squarepusher or Venetian Snares

offline Morton from out (Netherlands, The) on 2003-05-02 01:45 [#00680547]
Points: 10000 Status: Addict

Okay, there have been many discussions about this. Venetian
Snares knows how to make insane beats and wicked tracks, but
Squarepusher on the other hand makes beautiful tracks too
and is obvious that he is musically better.

So which one do you prefer? For me it's VS, i can't get
enough of his insane beats :)

so:

Perhaps it's lesser well-known... I'm about to order some
vsnares cd's so maybe i'm changing my opinion in a couple of

come on snares is getting cheat-points by this. That's

and what about SP getting points, someone argumented:

just got a snares CD havent heard enough of him tho...so
SP

that's not fair either :\

in that case the whole poll isn't fair!!!

A lot of people haven't heard both in the same amount...
You've heard more vs than sp, so you vote for vs. I've heard
more sp, so i'll go with sp.

CLOSE THE TOPIC PLEASE !!

just kiddin' of course :P :)

*turns to the crowd*

"everything is ok people. there's no problem, the poll is
still open and everybody has settled down. please don't mind
the SP-voters who try to close the poll now that he's ahead,
and happy voting!"

stop your whining. Tom's music is much superior, you only
need to hear VS once and you know it's nothing compareable
to SP

offline Morton from out (Netherlands, The) on 2003-05-02 03:28 [#00680665]
Points: 10000 Status: Addict | Followup to AlbertoBalsalm: #00680661

it may be superior, musically better etc. etc. but it just
doesn't work for me really

the problem with most of his albums is that there are always
one or two great tracks and the rest is filler stuff

that's one steady opinion!
perhaps it's true
Still i gues it's a matter of how much you have listened to
them

offline AlbertoBalsalm from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2003-05-02 03:33 [#00680675]
Points: 9459 Status: Lurker

that's not entirely true IMO. What about Hard Normal Daddy
and Go Plastic? There's maybe 1 or 2 ok-ish songs on HND and
Go Plastic. Feed Me Weird Things has like 60/50 good/avarage
songs, and the good ones are really good

offline merg from The New New York (Berlin) (Germany) on 2003-05-02 03:35 [#00680679]

I'd say it's perhaps true of some of the EPs, but not of the
LPs...

Points: 2519 Status: Lurker | Followup to AlbertoBalsalm: #00680675

that's also true,
but some are maybe a little more unaccessible, and they'll
appeal more to a person as they've heard it more often...
But you're right: Feed me weird things is way better than
HND and go plastic. Though i must say go plastic gets better
lately IMO.

HND rocks my world...esp. Cooper's World, Beep Street, Fat
Controller, Male Pill Pt. 13, Vic Acid...oh fuck it, ALL OF
IT! ;-)

offline Morton from out (Netherlands, The) on 2003-05-02 03:41 [#00680687]

i take you mean 60 or 50 % of the tracks..? well it differs
indeed,
on DYKSP only the first and the last track are worthwhile
imo, and with budakhan mindphone it's only iambic5poetry
which is genius, i don't like the rest

but let's not argue 'bout this anymore, we'll never agree
probably :)

Squrepusher could write a Venetian Snares track better than
Venetian Snares could.

Could VS write a Squarepusher track?

Answer: No, he jolly well couldn't.
