_awt_: - i agree, the exploding psychology is fucking genius
and definitely the best track he's ever made, or should i
say one of.

when it comes in with that bird shouting..... blows me away
every time

im here now

it must be, what..

SP 15
VS 4
now its
SP 16
VS 4
The Pusher is a fucking genious. I loved what Vsnare did at
ATP.. it seriously blew me away... but I fucking do the same
thing at home all the time... play crazy beats for short
periods over each other (i got no opera singer though!)
whereas Tom fucking has a bloody musical direction. He
fucking takes you somehwere i the future and across
dimensions in the world he has created.VSnare doesn´t make
me cry.

:) hehe
people take this pretty serious
i think the point has been made that SP is musically way
better, i fully agree on that,
but i just look at what i like to listen to,

i made some idm compilations with both SP and VS (amongst
others of course) on them and i notice that i always skip
'DYKSP' 'beep street' etc. and rather listen to 'in quod' or
'dolleater' or something..

the SP tracks bore me more quickly and are too predictable
:)

oh yes: --> IMHO <--

morton.. what about the live SP stuff? Jaopan, frigids,
breezeblock? the tweaking is great.

respect to your VS choice though - its all good!

mini ATP report
Looks like he just played stuff from CD´s (mp3.s) and
teaked em with FX controls, along with this honey singing
opera/punk style over the tracks....
with a big red face i have to admit i didn´t recogmise shit
but the insanity of it all was just my cuppa nd RDJ was
dancing all night in front of me to it!

SP live is better though!

its the vsnares gig i described there!

you want the live in dublin gig?

a 20 minute wait, holdup, delay or whatever... to droney,
sounscape music... like the most annoying yet exhilerating
buildup you ever heard.

then the master comes on, looks at the crowd with his "fuck
you, you fucking e kids... i hope the pills wore off in the
last 20 mnutes cos Squarepushers gonna tear you fucking face
off".. face and proceeds to assault us with GP tunes
timestrecthed to fuck a la Japan for 60 minutes finally
giving in to the crowd when we all start roaring at athe end
"Come to Daddy Come to Daddy" and he conceeds with "Common
my Selector". its hard to believ the stubborn bastard gave
in to us! But he owed it to us after that toe curling intro
- all part of the plan really!

hmm well Im not saying that vsnares suck.. Dont get me wrong
hes great.

And ive listened to them both allot !
I had a period a couple of month ago wen i listened to
Winter In the belly of a snake every time every single day..
and the same day as I got Winter my grandmother died... So i
combined winter with my mood.. And found out that In quod is
great just like cashew and sinksnow angel... And ive
listened a lot to his older stuff to as Dismanting five
years and fluff master..

He has many great tracks but sp still has bether quality and
skill...

god - squarepusher no question - he' can actually do music
rather than just aggressive and fairlly biring noise .

merg - was who looking miserable?

VSnare at ATP - a bit frowny, smoking a fag, into it but no
body movement

Tom in Dublin - a bit cheeky looking, quite physical,
concentrated but defo had a lot of presence. He walked off
very quickly in a spoilt kid kinda way! I heard he got into
a fight with the promoters faterwards and .. he didn´t show
at his next gig at Sonar 4 days later. Cunt! But i love him!

Why does no one ever mention "Fly Street" of BM? Awesome
track that.

I've not seen SP live but i did see VS in Camden last year.
Frankly, it was absolutely bonkers, verging on insanity.
Proper deathcore shit - i actually asked myself, "What on
earth are you doing here, you idiot?"

I love the bit in Fly Street with the tape rewind and then
back in! Ooooh Yeah....The Macho Man Raaaandy Savage : )

Venetian Snares live could induce cardiac arrest or a stroke
in elder folk i reckon, aside from the obvious head and ear
ache and a nose bleed.

wouldn't be all the interest there is in him.

If you "...didn't recognize shit" when experiencing the
VSNARES' ATP set, then you aren't a good source of opinion
on this artist with regard to his skills as a composer. If
you can't even recognize his pieces when you hear them, then
you are too ignorant of his music to have an informed,
reliable opinion about his musicality.

i suppose i'll just irritate everyone by saying i don't
particularly like either of there styles...
and that it's all in the eye of the beholder, and terms like
'better' or 'worse' only downplay the creative process which
is the real beautiful thing...
but having heard less than 20 tracks by either i'd have to
say sp

I dont know what the score is but Id say Venetian Snares,
sp's old albums dont interest me at all(except miron). Go
plastic is incredible though, if he releases more albums
like that itll be a tough call. (part of music is rotted...
is very good too btw) but I prefer vsnares overall.
