sorry so off topic, everytime i open an image in photoshop
6, when i attempt to edit the image i get

"could not complete your request because the layer is
locked"

i have to manually unlock the layer each time.. im sure
there are many ways to do this, ive just been duplicating
the layer and deleting the locked one.

is there a setup option that would keep this from happening
every time i open an image? i just want to open it
unlocked...

and oh yes.. also, idm.

What kind of image are you trying to open? I don't mean
content, the file extension..

Where ever you are getting the images from are
'watermarking' them I think? there isn't a macro thing or
preferences thing you can do to automate the un-locking.
Can't help....sorry.

go to the layers window and look for the little locks next
to the layer names

p.s. if you don't already you should name your layers...
this is off-topic but i just wanted to say that

jd/ thats what i was afraid of.

kb/ yeah they are already set on RGB

tw/ yeah the layer is certainly loced.. little tiny lock
icon and everything. i can figure out how to unlock it
pretty easily but i was just looking for some option to keep
this from happening every time i opened an image. :\ :/

thanks though~
