i'm 18 years old.

in your eyes, what is the youngest i can go when looking for
a lover?

i was chatting with my one chick friend at school and she
was saying that sixteen was pushing it.

how young do you think i can go?
(please be reasonable)

You fall for who you fall for. You shouldn't be thinking "oh
im gonna go fall for a 16 year old girl".

I mean, if you're going to set limits and standards, then
it's obviously for something other then a lover.

You can fall in love with anyone, any age. If the feeling is
love, and not just wanting a girlfriend, then age won't
matter.

I mean, a 12 year old is not mature enough to deal with a
serious relation. You're not on 'the same level' if you
understand what I'm trying to say here.

Im 18 and i've been in-love. I've been in a 3 year
relationship and a 1 year one.

Love has no age. The maturity of the relationship does.

as far as the legality of this proposed matter of yours,
within united states, as most things, it varies from state
to state. thus, you may want to look into this matter more
throughly before commencing with your pursuits. you never
know, you very well could be committing a felony. and just
so you know, beastiality is against the law in california,
but not entirely so in wyoming.
for further info, refer to:

age of consent

a lot of boys "fall in love" with the first girl they have
sex with, and end up staying with them 4 good. and vice
versa. depends on the person.

look out, you may be swept off your feet when you are least
expecting it.

Well a lot of girls start puberty at 12-14. I mean it's only
natural for sex to come at that age.

The situation depends on if it's safe and "right".

offline eXXailon from purgatory on 2003-04-28 14:12 [#00674690]

This "maximum age difference" all depends on how mature you
are and how mature she is. I know someone who is 17 years
old and has a 13-year-old girlfriend and they haven't had
problems for over a year now. He could just as well have an
older girlfriend but in a very problematic relationship. One
might be looking for commitment and the other one just for
holding hands every now and then. Think about it.

yes, it does all come down to maturity... but still, I'm 20,
and I wouldn't feel right about going out with someone 14
years old or so... maybe it's just me...

sure, a 12 year old may be physically ready for sex, but i
doubt the majority of 12 year olds are mentally or
emotionally ready for a sexual relationship.

that's an opinion probably based on people you know, live
with, within your country and countries in the western world
(which are all more or less alike).

It all depends on the individuals. It'd be dumb to
generalize this.

one further thought on this:

i speculate that in countries where the age of consent is
12, that whether or not the youth is emotionally/mentally
ready for sex is not of concern.

you can't put a numerical limit on it. you have to judge
the individual. though, if you judged a 14 year old was
mature enough for you, i'd be a little worried. point being
you might find a 17 year old girl who's much more mature
than a 28 year old you know.

older girls rule! it's true what they say - with age comes
maturity - and i don't mean that in as far as being more
sexually experienced is concerned. i'd much rather a girl be
older than i for the simple fact that she would likely be
more emotionally secure and less concerned with the sort of
bullshit many younger girls seem to concern themselves with
- "what can you show/give me - in bed and out? will you make
a good breadwinner?", etc. (mind you, i'm speaking from
personal experience - having had a good several
disappointing relationships of the sort with girls my age
and younger, and one incomparably great relationship with a
woman a deal older than i).

this comes from an interview with (of all people) madonna,
in the may 2003 issue of Q magazine:
so how do you define love now?
"the idea of giving just for the sake of giving, and not
getting anything in return, that's what i've come to
understand unconditional love as. It's not just a crush.
it's not something you can have fun with, it's not simply
feeling sexually attracted to someone or digging what they
do talent-wise. It's much more than that".

Everyone shut up.

I'm 22 and my most serious love happened when I was 16...
she was 19... i couldn't reach her... since then I struggle
to forget about it.

ditto and I totally agree with everything you said.

How much older by the way? Mine is 5 years older (almost
28). She'd actually been hidding it for fear that I would
have a problem with it which is kinda sweet somehow. It's
good though because due to different educational systems her
life is at the same 'stage' as mine and plus she doesn't
look a day older than 18!

heh. well, i was 20, she was in her late 30s (in a rather
unhappy marriage to a 67 year old man). not very
"politically correct", i know, and obviously unfeasible in
as far as any long-term relationship is concerned, but it if
anything, it gave me a clear idea of what it is i ought to
look for in a woman in as far as personality and attitude.

He he, yes, but the age of pubescence is decreasing all the
time- back in the victorian era it was in the late teens,
now as young as 7 or 8 is not unheard of, particularly in
girls. Would it be okay at 8?!

I think it's a bit of a myth that girls are far more mature
than guys, it's such a generalisation. Most girls my age
that I know are incredibly childish.
