Who or what the fuck is this stuff? We heard him at ATP and
it was fucking awful. Its been bugging me as to what it was!
I can't see how that bloke got signed to a label. Maybe he
was just pissing off all the people who hadn't heard a CD by
him so that they'd leave and he'd play something awesome and
we'd miss it. Just wondering.

Yes, that was the worst (cue hecker fans attack worse than
the Coil ones when I said I wasn't overly impressed by them)
thing there. To add insult to injury Warp are carrying the
latest release.

Bwalsndae39ry3%@"745 Is all I can think to that. I may
download random tracks just o see if it's all that
monotonous drone or not.

Perhaps their studio stuff is excellent, but their live
performance didn't make me want to bother to find out...

If you take any track by, ooh let's say the Olivia Tremor
Control... or Kate Bush, and slow it down to 10% of it's
original speed or slower... presto! an instant hecker track!

incase your talking about Florian Hecker, his set in Akl
several years ago was in-fuckin-credible ... shame you be
dissapointed - tho maybe it did really suck :?

i've heard he does quite varied stylz life. should also
check out his remix cd.

he really does incredible stuff.

it's easy and pretty close-minded to make fun of, I think.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making fun... well not in a
nasty way. More a poking gentle humerous sort of way. I have
'xackpy breakpoint' on Or which I like a lot... though it's
definitely a "when you're in the mood" CD.

hecker's live act on dispatch 2005 festival was one of te
best shows i've herad.

noise, but very fun in moments, with quotes from acid/techno
world....
with tina frank videos, it was like some video game
developer's nightmare, both polygon programmer's and
designer's, linked via dreamtooth.

I really can't stand Florian Hecker, sounds like Spectrum
Tapes chewing out my eardrums.
Tim Hecker however, mmmm lovely noisey-ambient-field
recordings-awesomity.

i wouldnt say its "noise" as thats a well slack word to
throw around. . . and hecker is easy to joke at, but lets
not all sound like 1950s parents claiming rock'n'roll is too
loud and from the devils ass hole.
anyone interested in sound and who has ears they really use
will hear how interesting his work is, also anyone
interested in sound design and programming. . . maybe hes
and artists artist... but he gets a double thumbs up from
me.
all music is good...scrap that ...relivent.
dissing shit is well weak.

p.s. jamie lidell is shit ;)

hahaha

p.p.p.s.s.s.s.... if you dig hecker check out these
artists:
-xenakis
-parmegiani
-curtis roads
-koenig
-kayn

and this software:
-csound
-supercollider
-max/msp
-pulsar generator
-cloud generator

yeah it snot noise in terms of music structure.

he spoke alot about pulsar synthesis, nearly everything he
does comes from it

pulsar synthesis is fuckin fascinating....
if you all want nice sound sources for electronic
samples...then download the pulsar generator software... i
reckon its free now (or free from somewhere )
