Can!

Oh yeah baby, here's some badass 70's artsy fartsy rock.
Monster Movies, Ege Bamyasi, Soon Over Babluma, Tago Mago,
long string of brilliant albums to feast on. Somewhat of an
electronic pioneer, this band. Alternately
funky/eerie/demented/abstract/what-evah.

CAN you dig it? Outside My Door and Father Cannot Yell are
rocking my free world as of now.

*waits patiently for someone with good taste to enter this
topic and say something that isn't retarded

But while I'm waiting, let's stare at this pic. Look at the
center and move your head towards it and away from it for a
neat effect.

yes, Holgar Czukay and a few of the others went to school
with Stockhausen, and then they formed Inner Space, then
Malcolm Mooney came along, changed the name to Can, then he
left. Then Damo Suzuki was the singer for thier best albums
'Tago mago' and 'Ege Bamiasi', then he left..

the only dead one is Michael Karoli, who died playing his
guitar.

i think they found him sitting there in a rehersal room or
something, dead, with his guitar...seems very apropriate, he
was a great guitarist - "One more saturday Night!"

I use to listen to Can and Faust etc. Not all of it I would
listen to now. Some of it is a bit fruity with the silly
echoey noises and stuff. I was major into Kosmische musik
and Kraut at one time. Some great stuff. But I don't really
listening to it much now. Anyone got any Tangerine Dream or
Schulze? The best band for me were Neu!, they're definitely
my favourite. They were very rocking, definitely a big
inspiration behind ol' Stereolab.

Neu! were fucking great, nothing like 'Hallo Gallo' driving
down a motorway.

Well yeah, you got to be in a certain mood for this stuff,
heh. It would probably help if I was on drugs, too.

Never heard any Tangerine Dream but I heard ABOUT them...
what do you recommend, might as well delve into them while
I'm in this mood.
