radiohead, glassjaw, thursday, beatles, cure, primus,
cypress hill, 311 (up until '99), smashing pumpkins,
deftones, red hot chili peppers (especially in '92), eels,
mazzy star, parliament funkadelic, garbage (the first 2
CDs), the flys, pitchshifter, (hed)pe, mindless self
indulgence, cake, beck, citizen king, harvey danger ('where
have all the merry makers gone' above all), NIN, filter, the
cardigans (gran turismo mostly), snot, strait up,
goldfrapp....
most likely more, and i have no links to give out... (do a
search for them though, i'm PRETTY sure they'll turn up)

guess those are the reasons me music won't stay 'pure' eh?

No I was only kidding, I love The Scientist as well but, the
I find the rest of their stuff flat, somewhat flavourless,
devoid of genuine emotion, predictable lyrics, bleurgh.

You like what you like I suppose.

Please tell me you were kidding about Coheed & Cambria
BlatantEcho. I heard them a while back and wanted to gnaw
at my eardrums. It's the whiniest of shitty emo I've ever
heard.

Is the entire rush of blood to the head as good as 'clocks'
morton? I thought in my place was alright, scientist
fantastic... but clocks really blows my mind! What a great
song!

sings: "Come out of things unsaid, shoot an apple of my
head, blah blah etcetera
"... lovely, just lovely :-)

They even LOOK so much cooler than the rest of the tools
listed in this topic.

Currently though, it's the Soft Boys and the Legendary Pink
Dots.

i will say pj harvey; it is band styled music but she writes
it all herself.

also, nine inch nails, the deftones, and not so much else
lately.

i can't believe somebody here actually likes that beta band
bullshit. i saw them when radiohead came around, and i
can't understand what they were thinking when they decided
to make music.

hum, no way man.

it's ain't emo for starters, and while his voice is high,
even live, oh man, killer show.

imo "The Second Stage Turbine Blade" is the best rock album
I've heard in 3 years. maybe longer......who knows, it's
really breathtaking rock on every listen through.
