I have done the unthinkable

I set up an old computer for a completely computer
illiterate friend.

Here come the endless support calls, and then the panicked 3
a.m. calls when he deletes his first Essential File.

Am I a masochist?

I know, and I was feeling good walking home thinking about
that... he finally has Cakewalk and a decent sound card so
he can compose shit. And he can start typing his poetry
(very good I might add) for possible publication.

Not only is he computer illiterate, you're trusting him to
be able to compose music on it??? watch out!

Well he's a clever, creative guy in most ways, but... you
ever see someone use a mouse for the first time? The overly
deliberate way they hold the arm, the pained look of
concentration as they attack the problem of double clicking?

Ah, he'll get the hang of it. :-)

You know what bugs me? The save icon in MS Office apps -
even in Office XP - is a floppy icon. Not only is this
inconsistent because it saves by default to My Documents on
the hard drive, but how often do people use floppies
anymore?

*mumble* *grumble*

If i shoot you with my magic sword you get really pissed and

Is there really an ill-tempered bunny in that video game? Is
there a larger picture of it somewhere?

aaaaaaaaaaaargh! Now there's a guy who gave me nightmares
:-/

I just could not get past him! Spent weeks and weeks trying
to figure out what to do (and this was before internet even
existed... so no gamefaqs.com!)...

I felt so relieved when i finally gave him the piece of meat
and it actually worked. That riddle was way too hard :-p
Almost impossible to solve, and with no hints either! But
ofcourse i didn't know any better and just accepted it. It
was also the 2nd game i ever bought... i was completely done
with mario bros, so there was nothing else to do but try and
solve the grumble grumble-mysterie... ah... memories,
memories...
