So here I am listening to Achtung Baby for the first time in atleast 3 years...Instantly I am transported back to my teenage years and I Fall in LOVE all over...Beautiful album and may be U2's best....
BUt THE LAST SONG...#12, Love is Blindness...Its PERFECT...one of the best album closers of all time...So powerful yet quiet...The bassline rattles your head while you drown in the guitar...
Anyone else like this song, or this album? =)

in my humble opinion 'achtung baby' is by far U2's best album period. not even critics' & fans' darling 'joshua tree' comes close as far as i'm concerned.
definitely one of those albums i wouldn't mind having with me on a desert island if it came to it. "love is blindness" is pure bliss too! awfully melancholy sort of track, mind, but one to drown your sorrows in when the occasion calls for it. 'zooropa' had quite a few good moments on it as well, given that it was made relatively soon after, but it wasn't quite the same.

Excellent album and you guyz are right; its their best. Zooropa snaps at its heals though.
Its just a shame that they've blown it all with boring meat n' potatoes rock and Bono's ego.

didn't know eno produced.
my dad used to play achtung baby when I was a kid, about 6 or so, and I used to go apeshit - I can remember it was the very first album i had heard with "noise" on it - ie something other than melody or rhythm at the beginning of tracks etc.
Now that i'm all into idm, it's kinda nice to be able to look back at that; my discovery of noise :)
great, great album
