have to break em in.as for the records,i get a lot of
rock/indie/metal type stuff cos i deejay quite a lot around

you should all mention your age,
when you tell us the amount of cds.

im 23, i bought about 70 cds, + 10 records(mainly aphex) or
so...
i dont spend much money on that

i somehow feel stupid sometimes when i buy things i have on
my harddrive,
though i know stealing from the people i adore is wrong.

ok i just turned 21, but only started buying cd's like 2,5 -
3 years ago, so with my 150 cd's that's about 1 cd per week
:)

The more the better, I'm considering officially renaming
money "album potential"...

Selling good ones for money? Or pruning the worst away from
the best?

Well we all had to start somewhere! I knew a lot when I had
100 or so! (That wasn't meant to sound as patronising as it
turned out of course) :-(

I have a rule that I sell anything I haven't listened to in
a year. However, I want to buy a new mountain bike so I've
also been selling some other stuff too, but nothing I think
I'lll be listening to very often.

My eBay sales are going well! I already have enough bids to
buy the bike, and I'll probably be able to get a DSL modem
with the rest :D

Interesting rule...is that regardless of how rare / good the
album is, or do you make exceptions? I would... :-)

Well, if I haven't listened to it in over a year it's not
good enough for me anymore. May still be a good CD,
but my tastes have probably left it behind.

I don't really care if a CD is rare or not. Unless I'm
listening to it it's pretty but useless. I would rather have
a few CDs I listen to all the time than one that's rare and
never listened to.

Actually, there have been two exceptions so far, Madonna's
'Immaculate Collection' and Paul Simon's 'Graceland', which
I held on to for sentimental reasons.

There always are exceptions in my experience...that's why I
had to ask ;-)
