anyone here ever listen to Raymond Scott? he was one of the first electronic musicians... he started in the 1950s inventing his own sequencers and such... a tribute album was made called "soothing sounds for raymond" with artists such as cex and bogdan raczynski
i suggest a song called "Cindy Electronium".. damn good, especially for 1959!
he also composed the song "powerhouse" which has been used in numerous cartoons, namely WB cartoons like Bugs Bunny

the tribute album has some great tracks on it, i especially recommend tracking down the casino vs japan (it's untitled). "soothing sounds for babies" (early sixties) was raymond scott's 3 volume collection of stimulating experimental electronic music for infants, it's nice but will drive most people crazy, very repetitive and, um, infantile. indeed, he designed and built the machines he used, there are some amazing photos of the massive floor to ceiling wall of hardware that was in his home studio. there is also a compilation called "manhattan research" which gathers tons of experimental tracks and stuff done for commercials. very interesting, if you're into the early experimental stuff. not exactly accessible, though.
