any prominent bands/groups that really influenced the genre
of what we call 'electronic'

of course in all technicalities an electric guitar could be
considered a piece of 'electronic music'

Its ALL electronic right?

but really, I've chosen people like John Cage, wendy carlos,
pink floyd to talk about...

heh and of course super mario brothers among other ageless
hits from nintendo.
