pre-sleep "dreaming"...

do everyone get this?

semi-dreaming...
before being really asleep, when you're still half awake but
about to sleep, images pop in my head reflecting my desires
and daydreams of the day, arranged like in dreams... it's
like imagination but twice more powerful and present than
normal daytime imagination! (and maybe guided? i'm not sure
about that)

i love this (except that it prevents me from sleeping when
it's sexual) : )

I have experienced sometimes that I fall asleep, then
immediately start dreaming. Then I suddenly wake up and it's
only 5 or 10 mins later than the last time I checked the
clock.

Bizarre...

all the time!

it's like getting to dream with 100% clarity in detail. you
can even "control" your dream like a video game instead of
like a movie.

thumping heart, and can't fall asleep for another hour or
so.

last night i was an hermaphrodite nekojin (sex changing
depending of the phase of the moon), naked, white with black
eyes, travelling through time to save witches from the
inquisition in italy... changing the torture tools into
giant plants with flowers, then throwing flames around the
other people's feet... was fun ^^ (although it was a bit
sexual too, and i had a very hard time sleeping afterwards)

yea i have something similar to this. because i have been
sick lately my dreams have been really fucked up, and i have
this reoccuring thought as i lie in my bed that i am a black
dude at the center of the universe. and if i stretch my
back out i can destroy the universe, i actually believe
myself, its quite fun, its happend a couple times now.

also i have this half awake dream that i am in space and
people are watching me to back flips shit. really pointless
but i keep having it.

i have those weird half-awake dreams all the time. once i
saw this girl hiding behind my computer chair, and she
looked just like the girl from "ringu"....she just sat there
staring at me in my bed, and then she just vanished. it was
really scary becaus i thought i was awake at the time.
Another time i had like four or five people just wandering
around in my room...doing nothing.

It's called "lucid" dreaming. My two scariest nightmares
took place during the lucid phase of sleep. The scariest
fucking shit I have ever experienced.

Yes, i believe Richard has his own take on this. If you look
hard, it'll take a while mind you, but, you'll find his
comments on lucid dreaming in about 37 interviews.

Lucid dreaming is being aware that you are dreaming -- this
can happen at any time during sleep, whereas the state
between being awake and falling asleep is called hynogogy.
Some strage shit can occur in this time period.

Before falling asleep I become aware that my thoughts are
becoming disjointed, more random. I think the point of that
awareness is the point at which I pass out.

I have had 2 dreams during the so called "hynogogy" phase.
Each one was away from home - one in Windsor, one in a small
town in Simcoe Ontario.

In each case I was visited by a poltergeist. The first time
it violently knocked my bed-light on to the floor and I got
up and knelt in the corner of my room (shitting my pants).
I could feel ice cold on my back and my ears began to buzz.
When I opened my eyes I was staring at the ceiling,
completely disoriented, the buzzing still ringing through my
ears.

Second dream I was sleeping over at my friend's for the
weekend. It was the early morning and a poltergeist (again)
whipped off my covers, grabbed my right leg and tossed me
off the couch and into the coffee table. Something held me
motionless and I closed my eyes and struggled for about 2
seconds. Finally I regained motion and found myself back up
on the couch.

Scariest fucking shit I have ever had happen to me. I will
never forget those two days. I'm glad I wasn't high when
they happened.

Sounds like an alien abduction. I'd check for an anal probe!
: )

I think some "experts" point to hynogogy as reasoning behind
the whole alien abduction thing.

*floating around the room hands clasped*

Yes that's good advice. You haven't had a bad dream until
you've dreamt about some who can do projectle vomiting out
the back of his head, a small seeping gap which squirts
litres and litres of thick, chunky barf. No, seriously.

Has anyone ever dreamt an entire day??

I used to when I was in school, and worry about homework
that I was given in the dream....that I hadn't done!

Does that make sense?
