This track gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it....one
of my fav. pieces from The Downward Spiral...Absolutely
beautiful.

I listened to it this morning when I woke up with all the
lights still out, just laid there smiling and warm...Its a
beautiful day here too:)

if you liked that one, try this one!!

p.s. there's an unreleased cover of "a warm place" by sister
solleil that was recorded for the stigmata soundtrack but
rejected by the producers :( it even featured trent's
contributions (though it is a true cover version)

Only thing you need is a warm place and a dark room...weird
things could happen there

I like that whole cd. I listened to it a lot after my g/f
dumped me. Thanks Trent.

that BOWIE track is amazing.....and quite similiar to trents
song. did trent ever admit that he inadvertently ripped
Bowie........or am i remembering the story wrong?

the story is he realized it after releasing the album... i'm
sure bowie was fine with it, it happens (see: "brace
yourself remix" vs. "a journey to reedham")

I LOVE a warm place AND crystal japan--whatever Trent did, I
dont care, his track is beautiful. :)

i think it's important to recognize while trent makes
excellent music.....orignal and on his own......that the
basis for this song came from a LEGEND who's music is
totally original.

i think my fav NIN/no-NIN is "at the heart of it all"
absolutely mind-blowing to this day...

holy shit, im so glad someone actually started a thread for
this song.

this is one of my favorite of all time songs.

i get this wicked feeling going through my body when i
listen to it.

if, you listen real closely, you can hear Trent saying "The
best thing about life is knowing you put it all together."

thankfully it didn't get released. she is one of the last
people that should be covering nine inch nails.

stella soleil sucks but i'd listen to anything featuring
trent

p.s. sister solleil is her industrial band

so will that cover ever be released...? will there be
another 5-10 yr gap between nin releases if not another one
at all??

It's nice that some people are loyal to Bowie, but Reznor's
version is musical perfection, Crystal Japan isn't.

What album does Crystal Japan appear on??

You can find Crystal Japan as a bonus track in the Scary
Monsters cd version. I love Bowie instrumentals, specially
the ones in the Low album; well, i think Reznor must have
listened the Low album a lot...

USACID: i really doubt it'll ever get released, and since
it's not technically a nin song (but an outside cover with
help from trent) it probably won't be on a boxed set either.
the best bet is to find sister solleil and convince them to
put the track up on their web site as an mp3.

the new nin album may come out late this year but most
likely we're looking at 2004. all i can say is that i know
for a fact that trent has NOT been recording any new nin
songs in the last few weeks.

i, too, prefer "a warm place", but respect the architects or
get broken (as they say in hip-hop). the bowie original is
great for us fans of his Low album even though it's not as
good as those tracks. and ashbrg i totally agree trent's
into the Low album judging by last year's Still album as
well as the general nin esthetic.

In fact, now i remember that i've recently listened to a
live recording of Subterraneans (bowie instrumental from the
Low album) played by NIN and the Bowie band together in the
Outside tour (1995)

hold on here, tits. where did you hear anything about a new
nine inch nails record? it seems highly unlikely at this
point in time to me, especially by 2004!

another underrated nin song i fucking love is driver down,
from the lost highway soundtrack.

so fucking... i'm shit at explaining things, so i wont :)

warm place is an awesome song; i always wished there was a
longer, more involved version of it.

mimi: afaik trent announced he was working on one after
still was released, in a bunch of interviews.

i'm a cynical bastard, and i've got the impression one will
be out by 2004. late 2004. no way this year, no way in
hell.
