 | Gah, I need help with this stupid essay due on wenesday. My hummanities teacher teaches us absolutely NOTHING and then
expects us to do a shit load of essays and tests that we
have no clue how to do or where to start. Anyways what we
 have to write about is......

How would you rebuild Iraq? Be sure to relate your ideas of
rebuilding Iraq with the Reconstruction period after the
 U.S. Civil war.

I have no idea where to start......Help?

'rebuilding' iraq: it's so hard to roll those rocks back
 into place?

 | well, if this is a humanities essay, then you have to think of themes you should have READ about in CLASS :), in order
to come up with evidence for your paper(s).

So you might want to mix a healthy combination of political
science, social science and literature (ie. fiction).

Think of common themes that surround the idea of
construction, not destruction, because it's about
 REBUILDING, not DESTROYING.

 | pfff, at first you probably should try to come up with a general plan or so.

Erm, the destroyers should pay if it was up to me to decide.
Further: first go with rebuilding anything that has to do
with primary needs, like drinkwater supply and hospitals,
food supplies/storage or so. After that get to the lands
economical side maybe? Roads, electricity, oil wels, and all
that. Luxuries would be the last thing on anyone's mind I
 guess.
It's hard to tell for an outsider, you actually should know
the exact situation over there and the most urgent needs of
 the population.

 | the problem is, he is not supposed to answer the essay with obvious solutions like food and shelter only. those are
basically assumed - relating to his question, he should be
finding general meta-patterns that follow with
 "the Reconstruction period after the
 U.S. Civil war".

 | One of the higher quality lecturers I have informed us of a good technique for essay writing.

Always Plan using the mind mapping technique.

 Structure of essay as follows:

Intro - approx 8% of total essay length. In which you "tell
the reader what you are going to tell them".

Main Body - approx 80% of total essay length. In which you
 answer the question set.

Conclusion - approx 12% of total essay length. In which you
"tell them what you have told them".

In the conclusion it is apparantly vital that you answer the
question set. Refering to the theories and models you have
 used in the main body.
