Just sold 20 of my CDs

Damn - do I ever feel better. There is nothing worse than
having some shitty albums making the rest of them look bad.

Daft Punk, CHemical Brothers, Prodigy, Moby, Orb (Cydonia),
Orbital (the Altogether), Photek (Solaris), Air (10,000hz
Legend)......Goodbye!

Some of that music was utter crap. It was good at
first....until I started listening to good music. I have
been forcing myself to enjoy them for such a long time...now
the burden is gone, and my remaining CDs are much happier
with the extra space. Now I can use the extra $$$ for some
Mouse on Mars.

wha???, now photek i get.....but why the daft punk? most
enjoyable happy dance pop ever created...excepting chic.

I had some friends over, and one of them commented on how 1
of the songs sounded like a boy band. That's all it took
for me. Goodbye poppy crap.

Thanks for selling those to me. I'm really enjoying them.

I think Discovery destroyed my faith in them, and Homework
couldn't be left behind. I will miss Homework, but after
Discovery, it just seemed tainted somehow.

ah, dont give in to them...if i listened to every negative
comment about what id listen to, my afx, autechre, etc would
be in the trash 50 times over

lol....enjoy. I'll miss Orbital's the "Altogether" the
most. I just couldn't see myself listening to it much in
light of all of their much better work.

People ask me if my computer is okay when I play Autechre.
.......er...um....I think your CD is
skipping,,,,..er....scratched. Don't care. Autechre blows
my mind. Their minds just aren't up to par yet.

Ya...I hate it when that happens. I'd be tempted to pawn it
off on some unsuspecting soul.

I know what you mean - on the strength of the excellent
"Weekender" single I bought the album "Life WIth Brian" by
Flowered Up.. What absolute toss.

It was only 300 yen, but it is still a blight on my
collection and it will be destroyed in due course.

solaris is by far photek's weakest release

I just couldn't get past the lyrics man. I don't care if
its Robert "Mr. Chicago House" Owens himself - lyrics ALMOST
ALWAYS destroy a fine piece of electronica - especially
photek's. Underworld is one of the few bands that can pull
that off.......definately not photek in this case.

The first two tracks were alright....downhill from there.

i too hate having shite records in my collection, but i

don't ever sell your cd's/vinyls; no matter what - even if
it's shitty music. I have lot's of crap, but I don't sell
it; I just store it where it cannot be found :)

I have no shite cd's/vinyl in my collection, I don't buy
shite. It's all A grade material on my shelf y'all ;)

so you never just 'try' something... only buy when you're
sure it's great? There goes the fun!

If I'm unsure as to whether something sounds good or not, I
ask if I can listen to the cd/vinyl, if I dislike I don't
buy it, if I do, I do :P

It had more to do with my friends verablizing what I had
been thinking all along. I just tried to live with
it....convince myself that they were alright. Everytime I
would play them, I would cringe. No point in keeping them
if I would never listen to them again. Make $$$, buy good
music this time.

hey there people, i am surprised that anyone would sell
their life story!

i have a real mix of stuff that i don;t listen to anymore,
but i know that once upon a time i was into them, and other
cd's i have been given or bought, but i keep them, because,
more often than not i have bought a cd, hated it, and come
across it again and really liked it...

don't sell your cd's unless you are in desperate need for
cash to help out your or another's starving family..

there is a real story behind someone's cd collection. don;t
be pompous about your collection...love it...
most people if not everyone has shite cd...shit, i bought
christina agurilaria's latest cd 'your beuatiful' coz i
loved the tune!!! (yes, i am putting my soul on the line
here)...

OMG...Christina. Some albums I would rather give away -
when I have people come over they're like "Hey! It's Moby's
PLAY!!! Let's put it on!!!" I would rather be without it
if I'm going to have to entertain guests with such
overplayed crap. "Look!! Armand Van Helden!!!"

I suppose I could have just hid them. Now my friends are
forced to listen to more mind expanding material. Except
now it's "Who is this? It sounds all skittery and they
can't keep any rhythm. Put on some Paul Oakenfold damnit."

Tibbar.....I know what you mean about Daft Punk. As much as
I enjoyed Homework, and a few songs on Discovery were
killer, it just wasn't happenin anymore. In North America
they used "digital love" for a GAP commercial!!! A GAP
COMMERCIAL!!!! Talk about sell-out. The two of em' even
got up and danced with their robot helmets with some chick.
Peeeww..

Much respect for them though. Talented bastards they are.
Cool helmets too.
