Good Mouse on Mars Album?

I need a good MOM album. I just purchased Iaora Tahiti and
Instrumentals. I was thinking Autoditaker, Glam or
Idiology. Whatta think.?

autoditacker is cool... and so is idiology, in fact, i doubt
you'd dislike any MoM...but my personal favourite is Niun
Niggung... it's a wicked fun album... and i swear to god, it
is one of the most accessible idm albums i can think of...
i've played it for lots of people who [aren't that fond of
idm]/[don't even know what it is]... and every last one of
them loves it.

i love niun niggung, and it's better than idiology imo.
those are the only two full albums i've heard.

I'm just worried - I hear that Autoditacker and Niun Niggung
are a little bit "poppy". Oribtal's latest "The Altogether"
was the last time I gave cheap fun a chance. With Orbital,
I found that fun was put forth at the expense of the
beautiful music that they had done previously. If
Autoditacker and Niun display some sweet stuff, I'll give
them a shot.

BTW....what is the problem with idiology? I hear mixed
feelings.

what i've heard from tahiti sounded more poppy to me
actually. i think the correct term for niun might be
"circusy". maybe not. it's bouncy, not in a hip-hop kinda
way, but in "the delerium is setting in 0_o" kinda way

my problem with idiology is that it's a tad to sweet
sounding i suppose... and really lacks the funky bounce of
Niun Niggung and Autoditacker...

Of those three, Autoditacker is by far the closest in style
to Iaora Tahiti. Glam is one of their most experimental
albums, and one of my favorites, along with Instrumentals.
I'm still trying to get into Idiology - it's a fairly big
change of style for them.

Autoditacker is the safe bet, or Glam if you prefer
something a little different.

Niun Niggung and Autoditacker, would be my first two
choices. but instrametals and valvu land are good too.

I'm havin a hard time finding Autoditacker, so I'm gonna try
Niun first. Thanks for all your input guys (and girls).
You certainly are inverted Mr. Whale.

no other musician/s atract such a variety of positive
opinions as far as i've seen. among those who like mom it's
never clear which are the more popular albums. one man's
cake is another man's stool!

I'm down with funky bounce. Sometimes I get a little bored
with 15 minutes of constant ambient wash. Sometimes I need
some nice little beats, even if they're scarce.
Think I'll get both Autoditacker and Niun Niggung - I need
some more happy music.

i got rost pocks recently and i thought it was great - some
great acid style tunes and a great sense of humour employed
in the tracks . how do the others compare to this release?

Iv'e been wanting to listen to them for a while. Could you
describe the genre of music it is and a good album to start
off with?

Rost Pocks is a compilation of their first few EPs and
singles. If you like that style you'd probably like their
first few albums too - Vulvaland, Iaora Tahiti, and
Autoditacker.

Murray, it's hard to describe the music, but I think
starting with Autoditacker or Iaora Tahiti wouldn't be a bad
plan.

nuin niggung (reminds me kinda of oval with beats, cute
melodies), idiology (kinda crunchy and chopped up, has a
great "pop" tune on it, which is one of their best tracks
EVER!!!!), or aggit itter it it (which no one has mentioned
so far)

Just bought Niun Niggung. Great shit. Picture yourself in
a giant room full of a giant toy robot party. Bubbly,
funky, and loaded to the tits with sound-effects unlike any
other. LFO and Mouse on Mars were the ONLY two producers
thus far that I have INSTANTLY fallen in love with....maybe
Plaid too. The rest took a few listens to develop a full
appreciation.

And in the future, why not just check some audiosamples of
the album over the net before buying, doesn't have to mean
downloading 256kb/s mp3's and burning them - most large
cd-selling sites offer Realaudio clips of the tracks.

Just a tip : )

you should be bale to find autoditaker on half.com rather
cheaply. seriosly, i think it's one of their best.

Ya....I do usually listen to some realplayer samples. i
don't do the whole download mp3 thing.......can't tell you
why really.
THing is I don't really get the whole gestalt treatment that
way. I need some feedback as to how the album feels as a
whole.
Half.com eh....??? Thanks Thanksomuch? Wow...looks like
you were destined to be a good little helper.
