I'm really looking forward to this re-recording. Yes, I know it's only a re-hash of a brilliant classic, but as Mike Oldfield said so himself, "This Album went on to become the most successfull rock instumental Album of all time. To my ears however I was always aware of it's imperfections. Notes out of tune, out of time, rushed playing, mistakes in performance, electonic noise etc etc... "
Any Oldfield fans here? Or his not noisy/random/scitzo/complicated enough? :D

Tubular Bells. Orchestral Tubular Bells. Tubular Bells II. Tubular Bells III. The Millenium Bell. Tubular Bells 2003. Hmmmm.
That said, I love the original. Infact, I think that, Hergest Ridge and Ommadawn are fantastic albums. After that he went a bit...well...

It's easy to be cynicle and say he's milking the music. He's milking the name, that's true. But I personally thought Tubular Bells3 was a storming album..very emmotional, sometimes harsh, and well produced. Amorak was very experimental, and Tres Lunars was alright as a chill-out album. Yes, the Millenium Bell was..er..embarassing...:D
But he HAS done some good stuff recently.
