how do you feel about Druqks?

Just wondering if I was so different from all those critics
who are calling it rehash and without direction? How many
artists could replicate the sound of Druqks? Or rip apart a
piano and relearn how to make it sound beautiful.

I know - lets get back to how great Jennifer Lopez really
is.

well, the piano pieces are just rips of john cage and erik
satie. but i feel that drukqs is like a scrap book of aphexs
work that manages to not sound like anything hes ever done.
its not his best album, but look what it has to compete
with.
its a great album.

fuck the critics man, who cares what they think anyway?
I'de trust the opinion of a fellow fan over them anyday, and
it's no secret that most aphex fans love druqks, and many
even believe it to be his best work. This site is chalked
full of great drukqs discussions, hit up the search function
and you'll see what I mean!

Thanks guys. My mind turns to mush the third consecutive
time though the album. Why would that be?

i have no idea about anything

yes well anyway i don\t like drukqs so much but i am several
years late in music. i used to listen to it quite alot but
it always lacked some sort of an edge to me. dont know why.

I get ripped to shred for this most of the time, but most of
the non D'n'B tracks suck I reckon.

Maybe my favorite IDM album ever, only Confield rivals it
for me. I have no idea why it's so maligned.

I really liked it. So many styles and the hard tracks like
Mt. St. Michael are so visceral it's great.

And "Taking Control"is one of the best "driving tracks"
ever.

realy not one of my favourites at all. i barely listen to
it. for me, once i got passed the overwhelming, detailed
technique of the tracks, there didnt seem to be a lot there,
imo

it is his best.

and ceri jc, YES!!! I've had a tape of a handful of drukqs
tracks in my car since july 2001 and have listened to it on
almost every drive.
the piano tracks are shite for driving but any of the
mentalist cut-up drum'n'yerface tracks work perfectly,
especially taking control, meltphace6, 54 cymru beats,
vordhosbn and COME ON YOU CUNT LETS HAVE SOME AFX
ACIIIIDDD!!!

critics who bashed it were fucking dumbfucks who all jumped
on the band wagon together

just like the dumbfuck critics who said godspeeds new albumn
was shit when it was one the best damn albumns of the year

i think its great.
has some of my favourite musical moments on it.
"COME ON YOU CUNT LETS HAVE SOME APHEX ACID!"
.....And some of my favourite dancefloor moments too.

As soon as the bass kicks in on vordhosbn, i just
think.....fuck.

i agree with the idea drukqs is a scrapbook - always have.
some works better than others but thats irrelevant. can
have a lot of fun slowing some of the ecletic tracks into
40minute epics too.

He he, yes, the +-60% of my turntables comes in handy on
some of the tracks >:D

i don't like drukqs.the problem is that if he'd cut all the
fillers and made a 60 minutes record it would be a lot
better.there's too much filler (in my opinion)and nothing he
hasn't done before.
not really revolutionary. he wasn't able to reinnovate his
style.
that's my opinion.

i'd rather have quality artwork released every couple years
that i _can_ listen to for years on end than have released a
decent album once or twice a year.
