d/l-ed it already..

it's err.. well, pretty disturbing

i must admit it's well done (i esp. like the middle (rather
quiet) part, with the snowy landscape and the car), but it's
rather provoking at the same time imo

Ha ha, amusingly I did nearly get stomach craps swimming
this evening. I hadn't eaten for 4 hourse, but I was just
pushing myself really hard. I think I'm going blind from the
chlorine though, everything in the pool seemed misty, I
asssumed it was just steam there, but it's in my flat too
:s

Morton, Yes that was my favourite bit (most scary too IMO).
The whole thing reminds me of the film "Kiss the Girls"

he shakes her really fast to that insane beats

OK, didn't know it was VS, and it's fucking weird having
images attached to idm or whatever VS qualifies as

offline promo from United Kingdom on 2003-04-15 15:35 [#00652177]

I think technically its good. But I think its over the top.
I think the imagery is just a bit too disturbing. This new
fast style of video editing is a joy to watch but not with
that sort of shit in it. I think Mr VS might be wise not to
endorse something like this.

offline MongoloidBaby from Savannah (United States) on 2003-04-15 16:30 [#00652214]
Points: 207 Status: Lurker

It was technically crap.

Fast cuts are not that difficult to do, you look at a sound
wave, you line up the cuts... this would be much more
interesting and "technically" good if they were long shots
with a lot of beat based stuff going on within them. This
kind of shit could be put together by anyone with 20 bucks,
some cameras, and a teeny bit of adobe premiere knowledge.

I still like Venetian Snares, but that was a pretty mediocre
music video.

great video technically (from a graphic artist's POV) but so
disturbing and inappropriate.

so equally divided between techincally good and technically
crap?

does that mean, technically, it's all opinion anyway?

I thought the video was Ok. The parts with the doll were
cheezy. The 99 cent store blood droplets and vending
machine doll mutilations are too obvious. And then when it
magically morphed into the real women, you don't need
Ms.Cleo to predict that ending. The parts with the real
woman were what saved the video for me. It was interesting
visually, and was the only part that fit the music. The
editing was typical IDM quick cuts which worked. Shitty
Professional music video. Awesome amateur music video.

I think it was shocking, just to be shocking. And lacked any
real creativity. Working off the title alone, on e could
have made it way more disturing, without being gory.

I think it was just too direct and un called for.

technically the video is VERY simply done. I do video
editting at school and anyone could do this if they had
adobe premiere. the camera man couldn't even hold his camera
still. I think mr. Funk should hire a professional company
and let them make a descent video. instead of that cheezy
shit that has been done over and over and over again.

greets isnieZot

i have seen it, i even made a svcd and watched it several
times. i think it fits to the music nicly but i see that
it's not everyones cup of tea.

and i don't see what's so shocking, ok, it's surely not for
children, but i bloody puppet and a wrapped girl? i don't
wanne be like 'i've seen everything' but that does not
distrub me at all. as i said, the news often are far worse

i agree with regital... fucking obvious imagery, too
repetitive, no sense of hunour at all. i just don't buy into
the dark side of idm image-wise. its really unimaginative

i do buy into cheeky pisstakes like afx and squarpusher or
slick stuff like autechre but this was white-picket fenses
commoner gardener, took 10 seconds to plan, no ooomph -
crap. At the same time... i like the tune, although its no
show stopper and the flashes of Funk behind his electronics
is where the energy sould lie.

You wanna see darkness with fast breaks? just look at Tom
Jenkisnon at the Alive in Japan gig..
Man and machine whipping up a frenzy in the daylight hours
- Dark! Just knowing TJ is fucking loving every second is
all the viscerilness ya need! (VSnares live at ATP was the
same)... fuck this psuedo-gothic teenage angst shit!

weak... exactly what i expected from this hack!!!
gratuitous, uncreative garbage. the dool was retearded, and
yet he kept it going for WAAAAAAAY too long... the rest was
just dumb. the song itself was some weak, merzbow "oooh! im
gonna scare you then rape you!!!" b.s.

too bad people think that becuase something is "effed up"
that that means it is artistically valid. some of you guys
will buy anything, huh?

that video was kinda weak...maybe my expectations ran a
little high, but after listening to doll doll doll, and find
candace, i expected to see something a little more brutal
than a doll getting hammered and a girl getting slammed on
the ground and felt up

i give this an F- for content..

After repeat viewings the doll bits are boring and go on for
far too long. The end bit is good, but goes on for too long
without ariation as well.

I like the driving in the car bit and the footage of the
silo in the snow though.

Venetian Snares rox live. whether it's live or not! It's a
fun show. The video is 'twee' it's obvious and doesn't add
anything to the music. I'd prefer a video of a beautifull
picnick at the seaside with the same music playing.
