well Im no good at stuff like that because really, I think a
song should be dictated by your own feelings, like if
everyone tells you the song is too long, but in your heart
you think it right, then go by what you feel...so im no
good, but really I think its nice and I would like to hear
more of your stuff

what labels are you sending stuff to?

Lots, mainly smaller ones (I will send one to Skam, but I
think sending one to people like rephlex/warp is a bit
unrealistic at this point), Massive Advance, V/vm (they've
already requested I send any future demos to them afte
hearing my first demo). I'm going to scour the net for the
addresses of more small UK independent IDM related labels.
Anyone got any urls/label names?

Cheers.

That's not the same as mailing it to Rephlex/warp you fool!
Besides, it wasn't at him... that honour is reserved
for James Kirby ;)

I don't know, I'm still undecided on that. I'm tempted just
to keep it as "Ceri JC", but I don't really like that. I
don't want anything prefixed by DJ and nothing too
pretentious either...

only idea so far is: "Gig Quiq - alcophile", but that's a
bit silly, just aprivate joke really. I'm toying with the
idea of using "Silo" as an artist name, but I'm sure it's
already taken. Any ideas?

it's not a bad artist name imo

The main advantage is that I know no one else has it and
also I suppose some people will recognise it's me...

hey Ceri,
i listened to this last night and if i remember right, it
was pretty nice... :)

and i'm thinking that maybe the labels you're going to send
your stuff might suit my drone music too... or what do you
think?
if you can tell me when you find cool labels like that i'd
be grateful...
i would tell you too, but i can't seem to find any
interesting ones...

Yes, I love your stuff, the BoC fakes (I know you didn't do
it!) which were renamed as your tracks were great.

I'll be sure to let you know if I find any decent labels. UK
labels okay for you?

I just listened to them, turns out I've DLed them before.
I've been doing that a lot with MB music makers recently. I
keep getting incredible deja vu then I find the file already
somewhere else on my HD :)

I really like 140802. It makes me think of two things-
Bladerunner and a the majestic sort of music you get on
films about space travel. Very good stuff. What are you
using for the pads, absynth?

150702 made me think of detuned radio listening to the intro
to "ufo over leytonstow" Quite repetative, but short enough
to keep your attention. The irregular percussion is a nice
touch.
