it took... aggggges... i'd done about 6 differant versions
of it and couldnt ddecide on one, so ended up amalgamating
elements from all the versions into 1 "megamix" hehe :)

hehe thanks... i was afraid of it coming across as "messy"
... i kind of lost most of my structure close to the end,
and there wasnt much holding it together

yeah did about 5 differant versions of it... couldnt decide
on 1 so i melded them all together to create 1 mix :) im
happy with it... but a little too chaotic for my tastes...

I like the percussive bits added to the guitar bit and the
drum break that then kicks in. I also like the "trademark"
xanpha feedback.
My main criticism would be that there are too many changes,
probably down to you mixing 5 different ones together?Like
you say a little too chaotic perhaps.
Mind you, this is tempered by the fact that the percussion &
guitar are quite constant which help give a sense of
continuity to it.

I like the quiet screeching synth-violin sound that comes in
at about 3.30, nice stuff. The ending is especially good.

I think the problem with remixing stuff without access to
the seperate channels (as I found doing Ian Fish) is that
there are only a few breaks/solos that you can sample
without having too many elements in the sample. EQing and
filtering will only remove so much... I demand Oasis mail
you the masters and let you redo it ffrom them ;)

I liked it. There were a varitey of transitions that were
made in the track which i consider good as i have a short
attention span sometimes. Never could quite see what was
coming up next. It was rounded off quite nicely.

I am interested in hearing your other one as well. I guess
i'll just wait around until your project is online!

Overall nice track!

That's pretty nuts - I really like the end part with the
reverbed strings. Nice how the track seems to just about
manage to fight off the distortion mangling.

Good analogy. I have this mental image of Teapot in the
soundbooth at an oasis gig messing about whilst the band
play and the crowd getting more and more confused :)

much of this track was done so well that I wonder if the
distortion is even necessary at all? it all seems a bit
contrived/perfunctory/gratuitous to me.. it does nothing to
add to the track.. which, again, I felt was really well
executed.. I would seriously consider taking A LOT of that
out because without it you have a far superior song

when you refer to distortion what exactly do you mean? the
random processed noises that come in and out? or the
distortion on the beats etc in general??

offline theo himself from +- on 2003-04-13 14:41 [#00648465]

the enveloped processed noises..

That was deceiving... ya know... calling it an oasis
remix... since it was really much better than anything oasis
is capable of.
