hey,

as this is an international board, let me first remind you
that i am from germany. so i don't know much about the
scandinavian electonica-scene.

but it seems to me, that for 2 or 3 years now, scandinavian
(and islandic) artists are getting bigger and bigger in
germany. yesterday they played on germanys national public
radio a track of SLOWPHO, a band from norway. never heard of
them before...

but they are really interesting.

do you have any other suggestions concerning scandinavian
electronic music?

thx,
andreas

well if you haven't checked out Royksopp yet (though they
have been aired on MTV), you should check them out.

There aren't that many scandinavian artists that i can think
of besides Mum and FUTURE 3 <- link to online
compilation which i will strongly recommend downloading

Jaga Jazzist are pretty known.

But their drummer also has a soloproject.
His name is Martin Horntveth.
I think he released two eps so far, and I didn't find any of
it on slsk or in shops...
I only have two tracks taped from the radio. On the radio
they called him an arytist of the J&J-school (James &
Jenkinson ;I didn't know there was such a thing)
Anyways, If you ever find his music, don't doubt, buy it!

Kim Hiorthoy (with such a / thingy through the last o) is
pretty known too .
I'm not into his music yet, but I 'm gonna check him out
some time soon.
Someone told me he's very good!
I think that was Tolstoyed.

They're all from Norway.

BJØRN SVIN!!!!

If you like old school synths and happy beats. Crazy shit
indeed! also, wery underground, Goodiepal makes some really
interesting music. I also reccomend Future 3. (a band with
Thomas Knak as a member, the one who produces for björk!).
Erlend oye rules by the way =)

A bit minimal -isch..
but I like that.

It makes me think of the blue skied an'clear compilation ,
released by Morrmusic.

it was funny...i was listening to it yesterday drinking and
smoking weed, and I came to notice that it actually is
compiled really good. Track 2 (acustic - pianotron) Track 4
(acustic - 100) and Track 7 (future 3 - 201) kinda stands
out as tracks you could have heard by other idm-artists, but
they really have they're own kinda minimalistic thing going
on there. I really dig it and listen to it pretty often.

It's 30 minutes of listening-pleasure, and i'm glad i used
the time on my 56K-modem to download these tracks, cuz i was
in desperat need for some new music, and i found it! :)
