Accept it.
gantz graf = crap.
no argue.
draft 7.30 = crap.
no argue.
fuck Ae!
covering emptiness with programming skills. foo.
no way.
i'm tired of all this idiocy about "oh it's all subjective", "it takes some time" and "you just don't like it anymore".
GG is boring.
Draft is a lot of groovy tracks randomly fucked up to become boring.

GG = crap ?
haha, you know i listen to Cap.IV every day on my MD when i'm on my bike to work .. can't get enough of it, GG itself is great too
draft7.30 = crap ?
LMFAO, i got it only yesterday and had a few hours less sleep than normal cause i listened to it over and over again
what æ track do you like then? 'bike' ? that for instance was a great great track when i heard it for the first time, but i never play it anymore, it's too boring, way too predictable

1. 1st part of GG is excellent, the ruffy part with beats, other is boring noise
2. cap.iv is good, but it's a remix, so i'm not talking about it
3. draft is quite good, but they maliciously screw every good track there. maybe except for surripere, it's the same all the way.
bike? well, it's quite good, not very interesting now, but good.

GG is pretty much shit without the video. I don't care much for Draft 7.30 eithor. But give me Incunabula or Tri Repetae and I'm happy. AE are far from dead, but I would like some more melodic tracks from them.

i've got to say, i've always struggled with confield, gantz graf and now draft 7.30 too. i think the problem with them is that i have only really listened to them using big speakers on vinyl. so it is a case of put them on minidisc i think. but i am NEVER going to buy another autechre album on vinyl again. whats the point?

something bothers in fact... if i had heard incunabula back in 93, maybe i would have needed a bit of an adaptation period before falling in love with it, you see i never listened directly to new AE releases but with the most recent one ep7>draft7.30
because recently i'm tired of music you have to listen for months before liking it, i just don't have the time to do that... but thas do not means it's bad music

you probably have the time to let it grow on you and all, i prefer listening to something completly new to me and let that grow, AE i gave enough of cash and time, so if the new album's nothing special for me i might even not buy it, there's just so much to hear in the electro-dsp-futuristic-extreme music domain...

to be honest, difficult music pisses me off. why do i want to listen to an album for 6 months before it stops being a garbled racket? i wishthey would stop trying to be clever, cos it is alienating people like me who have been listening to them since they started out. lp5 is my favourite work of theirs, ep7 is ok, but from then on, i don't see what they are trying to achieve. push boundaries? yeah, great...........go for it.

I guess the first aim is Autechre does like their own music, and they had the most time to let this genre grow on them. So they evolve their music, maybe you don't evolve with them... Personally i like it. Every time it's better. It doesn't get boring. I have a fulltime job so it's no way a I-don't-have-the-time thing. It's just what you like doing.

It's maybe a coïncidence, but I did the same thing last week, and hearing them evolve is an interesting proces.
It might not result in liking the recent stuff (I liked it before), but it's definately interesting to listen in order.
In fact, I'm going to do this more often in the future (or at least try to do this).

you really should get incanabula. just cos its, old thats no reason not to get it. its better than a lot of stuff you get today.
its fair enough saying don't buy it if you dont like it, but for me that raises two issues:
1. i never listen to mp3's or download before a new release comes out.
2. the reason i buy it is because i like the challenge of trying to get my head round their music. it's not easy, and haven't really got anywhere with their latest stuff (gg, draft) yet. but confield and ep7 are slowly revealing themselves.

yeah Ill agree on some of that.. . Ill never get mp3s of new albums.. . but only if I know the band and know Ill like it one way or another.. . ae is one of those bands so I dont bother with mp3s. ..
ok.. . I was over the top on the Incunabula issue.. . I would in fact buy it.. . but only if I saw it cheap or secondhand.. . because as far as Im concerned I allready have too many AE releases and theres too many other cds to get (;

wow, i hadn't read too much here about reactions to draft7.30 until now. i'm surprised.
i'm a little confused about all this "difficult music" and other complaints. after a single listen i enjoy the entire album and some of the moments were the greatest ae listening moments i've experienced. i can't wait for second listen this afternoon with the full bass stereo in effect.

"hippokrites" = all people who deny the fact that Ae's music flow is getting thinner with every release
Gantz Graf: WHO LIKES THE SECOND PART OF THE SONG? are there any? WHY?
26 mixes: it's not a new release! it's a compilation of old tracks, so it doesn't count :(
I really changed my opinion on Draft after writing this. It's mostly good, but they SCREW the tracks up all the time! :(
that's when experiments damage music

gantz graf is among my fav ae tracks, all the way through. i'm not sure what you mean by the second part, cause as far as i know it builds better and better. i think it's more a personal thing than ae's music getting thinner.
draft isn't my fav overall release, but a couple tracks are among my fav ae tracks. it doesn't really sound like their experimenting, as if they are out on a limb. it sounds to me like they have become quite comfortable makeing these nonlinear rhythms and strange landscapes.
then again, i've only listend to draft twice, and iy sounded much different to me the second time. i'll drop another opinion after a few days. or weeks.

I just got it today, listening to the surrippere track at the mo. I honestly think this is one of the best ae releases. I dont think the experimentation damages the music, confield was difficult to listen to at first for me but became the most rewarding ae i own after a few listens.

but really i dont think its exprimentation anyway... its simply the way they structure the songs, just because its difficult or challenging to listen to doesnt make it experimental.

MUSLIMGAUZE MADE THE SAME THING
and so his music sucked and ruled at the same time
he made a loop, and fucked around with it
it was kinda boring..
that's what happened to Draft..
not counting Surripere.
and look at Gantz Graf. at 0.56 the song DIES. it becomes an experiment on noise. which is very good but boring and colorless :(
