Hiya!
CeriJC! (and the rest).... really sorry i was way too
mashed to meet you guys! A mate from Bristol arrived with a
ton of grass and i was fooked all weekend!

met RDJ 3 times!!!
1. At shops on sunday morning!
2. Behind me during firealarm exit at Magic band
3. Dancing to Vsnares like a loon!
.....Verdict?... he´s a mischievious gnome of a crusty git
in real life... which is good!

Great gif all round and i shall review the acts over the
course of the day....... what a top class gig!

some fucking review!

ok
RUSSEL HASSEL was the best for me.... pure noise
head-wreckage with Whitehouse tunes and extreme beats.
Amazing and the most progressive act there for me
APHEX TWIN
A brilliant ragga/jungle set with new tunes, and
Zigghomatic...... the start was similar to Pukkelpop just
before the jungle bit
GESCOM
Excellent DJ set from Booth n Brown but not Autechre enough
for me.... twas surprisingly techo-based
LFO, SURGEON ... top class techno from these lads with a
definite froward momentum, some AFX tunes, and tight mixing
FARMERSMANUAL
........ very worth checking out for atmos, beats and solid
programming
PUSH B. OBJECTS (LIVE) (i think it was them)
.. really really good stuff ...... onc of the bets acts i
saw
MIRA CALIX AND ANDREA PARKER
.. fucked upo sound system and extremely chilled set didn´t
make for a great show
VENETIAN SNARES
UNBELIEVABLE.. deserves a massive solo thread
TOTAL CRAP
..DREXCIYAN DJ STINGRAY
....A. GUY. C. GERALD
....CARL CRAIG
...WEVIE STNODER

"VENETIAN SNARES

too bad the other topic got closed

key did you know what he played ?

no idea what Vsnare played as i don´t know any of his stuff
with it sounded like ..er,EVERYTHING! .. at the same time.

No really, it did have a serious disjointed feeling to it
but a overall consistency that made it non-headwrecking

FUCKING HAVE IT, YA BASTARDS. Let me here you say
AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH 1 2 3 4 MUTHAKUCKWIT
Bo mate, the venetians fucking ripped, but personnally
Gescom was favourite set. Just enough techno to keep it
dance floor, enough mentallist selections to keep it bo
fucking selecta.
what can be done to indie bitches to make them HAVE IT
FUCKING LARGE?? Some of those wet blankets needed to be
chained to the bassbins. Answers on a muthasucking postcard
arsebandits.
How about the new AE lp? Not a scratch on Confield(there
best ever methinks), sounds half finished to me with its wet
synths and hip hop beats.

Yeah, tickets have been on sale for about 2 weeks I think.
Check out www.atpfestival.com

I don't know if I'll go next year, I had a good time, but
I'll be a lot more hard up this time next year as well as in
the middle of my finals exams at uni.

next year won't be anything like this year though. mogwai,
tortoise and shellac are having one day each, so there will
be far more "bands" playing.
for people into electronic music, i don't think there will
ever be a music festival again with a lineup as good as atp
this year. the likes of dedbeat have a lot of good dance
acts, but to see coil, parmegiani, disjecta playing guitar,
the fall, the magic band, jim o'rourke, yasunaou tone etc
etc on the same bill as aphex, snares, surgeon, gescom, lfo,
etc will just never be equalled.

but hey theres some canadian and swedish electronice there
too, new artists to me.

bola, jim o'rourke, dr. dooom remixed by pb wolf... but no
LFO, el-p, coil, surgeon..

HI DE HI campers!!!!

just got back after 10 days of nuttiness.

well what a great festival (if you could call it a
festival)
a Challet for fucks sake!!! with boss telly all weekend
(Cutmaster Swift on Terry Wogan, Solaris, Stalker, They
Live, made me feel old but fuckit.)

From what i remember,
Public Enemy where fuckin Tight, amazing, highlight of the
weekend for me.
Wevie Stonder where a shambles but great.
Aphex's set was monstrous, from the early electro start to
the fucked up remix of Cocaine at the end, a great journey
through electronica.
Magic Band looked and sounded tight as fuck too, but the
ghost of Beefheart made sure we didnt see too much of that.
Drexian DJ Stingray fuckin rocked, amazing set, along with
Gescom and Aphex the best DJ sets of the weekend for me.
Venetian Snares was fuckin hillarious, with that bird
singing the opera madness, weird finish to the weekend.

OH!!! and....... Playing Global Communication for 15 minutes
standing at the decks looking at your watch does not a DJ
make, them two bints on Sunday where a disgrace.

sorry to not meet up with any xltronicas but was pretty
twatted all weekend to have stuck to any plans. I was the
big cunt off his head shouting HI DE HI everywhere anyway.

after the festival we drove into the Dartford National Park
to camp, then to Lands End, StoneHeng, Avebury, stayed in
Glastonbury, then to Devils Bridge near Abarystwyth, driving
through the mountains in Wales, then Liverpool for a few
days, drove 1100 miles. great stuff.

Glad you had a good trip. I'm off to email XLT member

It was excellent fun. I had as much unmusic related fun as I
did music. Fisticuffs, chess, swimming (in the sea as well
as the pool) trashing the chalet (miraculously nothing got
broken despite throwing chairs around etc), getting off my
face on absinthe, flag burning, walks on the beach/dunes,
fun trip down etc. a great weekend. Something I'll remember
for life.

All the people were dead sound and there was no one there I
got into an argument with/took a dislike to, nobody stole
anything etc. basically a weekend away from the usual
assholes you get in "real life" and gigs. Makes me want to
live in a big IDM commune where everyone is dead sound.

The boys from dublin (thought it might be keys, he he) who
were patently off their face on tranquilisers within an hour
of getting there were great. Not to mention the people in
the chalet above us who affectionatley dubbed us "The
Absinthe Boys" and gave birth to the best catch phrase of
all time "Watch out for the stomach cramps!".

Proper press photographer got some really good pictures of
giginger absolutely decking my best mate. I can't wait to
see where they surface...

wow Ceri! sounds fucking madness where you were! We were
obviously too fiucked on quality grass to get up to such
active tomfoolery. I usually go nuts but, cos im kinda
staying off the pills, it was fairly subdued but no less the
fun for that!

Yeah.. the vibe was intesily friendly all round.. loadsa
london geezers and local lads dropped into our place and
entertained us for hours with stories of Buckfast mixed with
cider, extreme hospital Xrays, and general funny fucking
chat!
I surprised the lwhole room by playing my own weird stuff on
CD and at the end declaring .."That was my fucking music,
chaos".... to awed faces! What a rush!

Real pity i missed the rest of you guys. roll on the
xltronic summer party! (hint hint)

Yeah my only regret was not taking my ghetto blaster as I
had some quality tunage with me (and my own stuff). Summer
party idea seems on hold as B3n and Chri5py have stopped
being "regulars" here and they were helping organise it. If
people are still interested and someone would be up for
helping organising it we could ge tit going again.
