Ahh Day Of The Tenticle...
One of the holy trinity of Lucasart games...
I also have the manual somewhere, but if it's some sort of
wacky copy protection I don't have the codes for it.
I think running it with ScummVM bypasses it (at least it
does with Monkey 2)

it came with sam and max hit the road. full throttle is fun
too. I like to eat peanus. It is fun to open the shells, but
it can be very messy. I wonder if I spelled peanus
correctly.

i love that game!
to play the original maniac mansion, if anyone didn't know,
you have to try to use computer like 3 or 4 times in a row
in ed's sons room. i think his name is ted maybe.. he's the
one who collects stamps and has a hamster..
it's a great game though. Sam & Max hit the road was great
too. can't wait untill the new one comes out.

forck_02lynix: i'm not saying that it's on kazaa or
anything, but i think it's actually better on the mac
because it has actual speech throughout the whole game, and
not just the intros like in the dos version.
but if you downloaded the mac version from kazaa it would
probably not have all of the great speech and music.

This thread now officially belongs to me. Day of the
Tentacle is one of my favorite games of all time.. I even
ordered the hat from the Lucas Arts catalogue that came with
all of their games.

Which LA title garners the most popularity here at XLT?
1. Sam & Max
2. Full Throttle
3. Day of the Tentacle
4. The Dig
5. Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

I'm going to have to go with number 4. The soundtrack and
atmosphere are what did it for me. The maturity was
refreshing as well.

If you buy the game (or play a copy of a
purchasd/non-cracked game) there's a copy protection thingy
where you have to "consult" your manual before you can
play.
I don't remember what that copyprotection-thing was called
but it was pretty common for a while. Like doc-check or
something...
hehe I haven't been around for a while...

well an interesting point : MAC.
did it have sweeter gfx than the PC version?
Mac was better at handleing gfx back then I believe... not
sure, but DOTT is in VGA on PC. Not sure on Amiga though...
I have the CD version myself with speech and everything.
yay! gonna play it later this mounth or this summer when I
have time.
