I'll do mine for I Care Because You Do...

now, this was my second Aphex Twin purchase, and only my
second IDM album, so I was new to the whole thing... but,
since I had bought The RDJ Album (my first) I SOOOO wanted
this... it was like my holy grail type of thing... I
remember going to the mall, and it wasn't there... so I
tried this small little shop downtown, and THERE IT WAS!!!
Oh my, I was happy... see, I had wanted this one so bad
cause, well, I had heard good things, and had listened to
samples, but also because I was dissapointed with the song
lengths of The RDJ Album... not much meat to it... I really
wanted something to sink my teeth into of Aphex Twin's...
anyways, I put it on on the drive home, and took the long
way as I listened to Alberto Balsalm a few times... I
remember being so facinated with Start as You Mean to Go On,
because it just sounded so cool, and the synths just filled
my head... also, I had rented The Silence of the Lambs, and
remember lying on my couch with the lights off, listening to
this right before putting on the movie... since then
whenever I've thought of the movie I've thoguth of this cd,
and vice versa... anyways, it was a nice memory... great
great album, and I have it playing now!! MMMMmmmmm!!!

I remember I picked up that album at this horribly
overpriced CD store at the mall by my house (it was worth
the cost though) My brother was there and he jumped and was
scared when the door slams in CowCud is a twin

ALberto Balsalm reminds me of something pleasant but I cant
figure out what

being gradeschool age.. and being at your school, but the
school is closed. it's some sort of teacher workday.. or
summer vacation.. and your just there to pick up some papers
or something.. and you walk down the halls and stare into
the empy classrooms. the chars are wooden...

10 times? I can't even listen to it once the whole way
through, I think it's their most overrated. But you're
trapped in a glass and I guess it must be too much work to
go change a CD. Understandable!

I have vivid memories of hearing every Beatles album for the
first time, and Pet Sounds. I'd kill to have my memory of
them wiped and experience them again.

agreed about Tri Repetae man... it's my least favorite
release of theirs that I own... and I just know that once I
get EP7 and Confield, those will surpass tri repetae...

i could say the same of tracks 9 and 10 off fear factory's
obsolete
so sweet, but my memories of them are quite painful, i'd
like to hear them again for the first time under better
circumstances
also, Kid A...i could use hearing that again for the first
time

first time i heard lateralus i was really fucked up on
ambien watchin my friend painting, and i remember noticing
how the paintbrush strokes seemed to go perfectly with the
music.
felt like i was about to explode, it was just a massive
collision of sadness and bliss and i remember thinking "this
is what it feels like to die".
needless to say, i got myself somewhere i could sleep the
shit off and haven't listened to lateralus since then

the first time I listened to Drukqs, I really couldn't make
any sense out of it... sounded like a mish mash of sounds,
with no order... heh, the first time I listened to 54 Cymru
Beats, when Phobiazero had it posted on aphextwin.nu before
the album was out, it was worse... just sounded totally
random and craz... :)

the first album which really found mindblowing and
got me into music in general, was The Masterplan by Oasis.
you can say what you want, 'Underneath The Sky' remains one
of my favorite songs ever and this album is the one which
has the most affective value to me.

reminds me of good memories... =)
...now lost forever. =,(

I remember the first time I got into Kyuss. I was sitting in
my house, it was like, 3.30am and everyone had gone out for
more drugs. I was waiting, speeding my tits off and sucking
the occasional bong hit. I was looking for cds to put on and
I found one of their albums. I'd heard a bit before but it
had never clicked with me. I slapped on 'Hurricane' and my
fucking world ended

Fuck that shit topic - how about this one ? albums that you
hear on acid that you can't bear to listen to ever again? I
remember being at this party and screamadelica was being
played all night. Well, that, and the beach boys and
hardfloor. For up to 2 years after that, every time i put on
trip inside this house i would have severe flashbacks and
have to turn it off right away. Has anyone else had any
similar experiences?

lotsa albums have specific memories/feelings for me. right
now i'm listening to mhtrtc, and i feel like i did when i
was driving to school during my first semester of college,
during the fall. cooling air breezing in through my window,
shades of yellow, brown, and red all over the place, the
smell of dead leaves, and a feeling a sense of blue cold
chills enveloping me... wow, that all jus went perfectly
with turquoise hexagon sun!
