Who the hell is this V/Vm guy. The tracks he does are
pathetic. I hope he is not making money off these..

I think quite alot of noise lovers do like the output of
V/Vm, i personally don't like it.

To me the remixs sounded like they had got a hold of Aphex's
LP's, linked a distortion pedal through the turntable and
played the tracks at different speeds which changed
throughout the track.

Not my cup-o-tea

I just had to buy that first "help aphexTwin 2.0" cd because
of that stupid small cd format. I think im gonna buy the
others to , it looks funny on my wall hehe!
Crappy music tho , a drunk chimpanse could do better
remixes.

James Kirby aka V/VM used to make excellent idm before
turning into a joke.
his first ep is a masterpiece that has been overlooked due
to his recent output.

Those mp3 extracts are just awful. Sounds like some little
boy applying some random effects with some cheap sound
editing program.

granted, some of the v/vm output is a big joke, and i think
he's making a point by releasing it. anyone could do it of
course, but no-one else has actually thought about it or had
the wit to actually release it.

the new 'sometimes, good things happen' cds are very good
musically. the yellowy one is some lovely ambient music with
sparse beats and very lovely melodies. the blue one is
rather noisy, and might appeal to less people (i havent
bought that one).

the caretaker records are by the same feller, and these are
ambient-ish, but constructed in a different way, taking 30's
ballroom records and messing with the sound (reverbs,
slowing them down and adding ambient textures over the
top).

i reckon you have to take some of the other v/vm records as
the complete package eg. the 7" ro commemorate the death of
the queen mother, limited to 101 copies only...

i like the thought behind it. with all richard's money he
really is a big whiner for withholding music from fans,
saying he doesn't care about anything but himself, charging
us large amounts of money for rereleases that lack bonus
tracks (previously released [eg: CW compilation, AB3] or
unreleased [SOSW was a nice change]), witholding vital
reissues, cheating us out of good packaging (2 Remixes, 26
Mixes), etc. he should be a lot more grateful he's not poor
like 95% of the musicians in the genre. *gives dap to v/vm
even if the remixes suck much ass, even as attempts at
humor*
