Iraqi freedom !

When did freedom for Iraqis become so important to the US
GOVERMENT !?

Saddam was a brutal thug 15 years ago when the USA supported
and armed him. If the USA let it slide then the USA can't
use morality as their main justification now, especially
since their are still supporting 3rd world dictators, and
DRUGLORDS in south america.

How did the US propaganda went from hunting OBL to
liberating Iraqi's in less than a year and a half ?

Why is US prez. GWB telling the same shit over and over
again....

hehe freedom?
It's all about thoose $$$$$$$...
down to the last cent:

http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=15524

"To the victor goes the spoils"

"Before the war began, the United States Agency for
International Development invited a few well-connected
companies – including Kellogg, Brown & Root, a
subsidiary of Halliburton, the oil-services firm that Vice
President Dick Cheney used to run – to bid on a
massive infrastructure-rebuilding contract for Iraq."

That's what it's ALL about.

the whole CDMA deal (you can read about that in the article
I posted a link to).. that's
what REALLY pisses me off...
Some people are too selfish for this world.
Yet they're all doing fine.
fuck them.

Freedom for Iraq? I wonder what type of freedom they're
referring to?

Will they be free to elect a fundamentalist government? Free
to nationalise their oil industry? Free to close their
markets to western corporate interests?

sometimes USA forget about the whole oppressor/opressed

You can't tell them to think about it either, cause some of
the people has too much interest in money and too much
power...

they've already suppoted pinochet in chile who was a
notorious disctator as well as numerous dictators, it all
depends what the monetary inte3rest is .
there are a number of reasons why iraq is target number 1
for the us but most of it seems to be bacause they are one
of the worlds most oil rich countries - against all
international pressure the us have already begun
implementing their own companies in iraq - theyv'e given one
of iraq's main ports over to a us company .
it's not freedom they're interested in - it's transparently
about forming a us lead democracy in the middle east - what
they should be concentrating on - and the source of much
hatred of the west is the revolting apartheid like situation
in israel, but paradoxically - they support it .

What do you mean "not entirely fair"?

Seems the plausible reason I've heard so far.

I think we should all now start referring to him as Ronald
Dumsfeld. More apt.

And Colon Bowel... 'cause he's full of shit

Did Southern Americans benefit from the many regimes the US

I guess if you ask how lucky normal men were with Augusto

True,

I wouldn't like to get a government in that way either,
definately with 12 years of economical boycots and so
forth.
I am aware of all that.
But I believe it's hard to predict how things will evolve in

So, what other possibilities are there to get rid of Saddam
!? Are there any diplomatic solutions ? Can you negotiate
about HumanRights, with someone like Saddam Husayn ?

(Sorry, I didnt really bother to read thru the hundred

Declare war is never a solution.
Not sure Saddam is negotiable either.
But then get rid of him. Not the country.
USA should not build the infrastructure either...

it's so obvious USA's doing this for their profit. not for

And that's sick.
Making money killing people.
Killing people should never be allowed unless it's some form
of selfdefense...
think about it...
I just want this war to be over asap.

Ok, but only getting rid of SADDAM wont help either. I think

whole Baa'th party, and all its members....

Correct!

And talking about human rights to justify this war is crap.
This has been going on for ages and just now it justifies
war?

And there are plenty of other governments/dicators guilty of
these crimes, there never has been any war for this
reason...

I don't know. The matter is really complicated, and there's
probably some other reason besides the money alone. It's
hard to get to know the entire truth about this thing.

Sundag I watched a documentary about how the US lied to the
saudi's by telling them there were Iraqi troops near their
border ready to attack Saudi arabia in the months before the
first gulf war. They even used fake satellite foto's and so
on. There are things going on we don't know about.

Damn, I wish a had the solution so the war could stop
immediately.

but the iraqi people could not defend themselves from
saddam. that was proven when the u.s. left them high and
dry at the end of the gulf war.

have you seen those leaflets that they are dumping on iraq.
they are pretty funny they say something like:
"this time we won't abandon you"

they might as well say:
"please trust us, we promise not to fuck you in the arse..
again.. honest"

what if the u.s. spent all the money that is going into the
war on research for hydrogen powered cars? then we wouldn't
need the oil. we could get the heck out of there and ignore
the inhuman actions of saddam's regime like we do with all
the other dictatorships in world.

In the documentary mentioned it was stated by Norma
Schwartzkopf himself that the US stopped the war too soon,
so that Saddam could remain in power.

The Iraqi army bombed the Kurds, but now they no longer have
airplanes, I guess the situation is different now, but as
said, we don't know enough about what's going on.

And nobody does shit about North Korea...
Hmm... maybe because they don't have anything US can take

But NK is indeed a big threat... to the whole world.

always a tragedy, but give it a year and look at a

yeah.
but it's still a situation we need to deal with. Not
necesseary by war (I don't believe in violence)...
War is just so lame.
Hurts so much more than the target.
And one should keep ones eyes on the target...
many people aren't very smart, like a certain Bush.
Empathy is a kind of intelligence.
It's already been stated to many times what Bush and his

War for oil:

I was think, perhaps there is a different approach to the
war for oil. We all know that the world oil reserves are
running out, and without Iraqi oil, they will be gone by
around 2020. With the oil companies doing little towards
research for alternatives, then it looks clear that around
2020, there will be a huge economic downturn, worse than
what we saw in the 1920s. We will be looking at a much
poorer world. All you Americans with your SUV will have to
give them up etc. In this world, with Iraq being one of the
few places with oil left, Saddam or a likeminded dictator
could, in effect hold the entire planet to ransom. The
removal of someone like this, even if the oil doesnt go
straight to American interests, may stall this economic
decline, while hopefully we can get our act together and
develop such things as hydrogen fuel cells, bio desiel,
ethanol and many other ideas.

While i hate the idea of war and am opposed to American led
imperalism, i do support our troops out there.

so, why is it better that america has control? it's the
same deal, only american oil companies hold the world for
ransom, right?

fact is that america will be in far more danger and the
world tension will be much higher post-war. this war for
our security is going to bring our security down. all the
while ruining this nation that is already in the pits.

u.s. gov officials say we will rebiuld iraq into this great
democracy but now they are talking about letting iraq fund
the reconstruction! the whole situation is so absurd, so
horribly sick i can hardly imagine what goes through one who
actually supports it.
