i already read some stories on this mb from people who met
other afx-fans at work or in the city or something, i always
thought; yeah right that'll never happen to me

until a few minutes ago,

i walked into the laboratory here at philips and heard
drukqs cd2: ziggomatic!!
i looked and it was just employee from here who had this cd
in the computer while he was busy there.
i said: "hey aphex twin!!"
"yeah that's right" he said
i asked if he had more afx cd's, he told me he had most of
it on vinyl
i asked him if he knew autechre,
he knew them too and had some of their stuff on vinyl too he
said!

haha it was really great, i work here among those boring
serious people and suddenly i hear Drukqs!

The AFX symbol is a gay icon in most of the world now. I
have saw lots of gays wearing it.

"a fag".

you are so fucking lucky! It happened to me a few times i
THOUGHT i heard the ventolin beep coming out of some lab,
when i entered it was gone. A lot of machines appear to make
this sound, very frustrating..... Every time i got very
excited, "Could this be true, another AFX-freak around
here"???

But yeah.... the world is not THAT nice...

i study chemistry, i'm having an internship here at philips
for about 7 months or so
i work on 2 projects here, one has to do with 'levelling and
drying' properties of all kinds of coatings, the other one
consists of doing experiments with very thin (0,05 mm)
glass, this because they want to develop flexibel displays
(LCD)

i am working at the german research center for artifical
intelligence. i recently introduced some people here to
electronic music. they were shocked!
but there are also some scientists who really are into that
kind of stuff: intellignent music for intelligent people
;-)

Nice :-)
Usually in threads like this someone like Bill Hicks comes
in to say something like: "who cares? Is your life so dull
you have to tell everyone you met someone who likes the same
music you like?".

But i understand, it's just a nice feeling :-) It happened
to me a couple of times, and i was always very pleasantly
surprised. You just don't expect to run into other people
"in the real world" who are also into this kind of music.
But indeed... you should have asked him if he was on
xltronic ;-) Well maybe if he is he'll read this thread.

haha yeah hicks probably would have said that if he was
online
most of the time he's the first one who replies in my
thread.. not this time,
i'm a bit disappointed 'cause of that.. :(
