Red Snapper

I need some info about the one and only Red Snapper. On
Allmusic, it lists 2003- Red Snapper- release date
Mar.18/03. I found it on Soulseek as well. Now I'm a little
confused, I thought they called it quits after ''It's All
Good''. Fill me in as to what this is.

And while we're at it, pay homage to the Snap, I don't see
them mentioned much around here, they're damn good and I dig
the organic/elec mix. Making Bones is great. Although I'm
not the biggest fan of the female vocals.

I actually haven't heard any red snapper. So if anyone would
like to make some recommendations, I will be more than
willing to listen!

Get Making Bones first, but you can't really go wrong with
any of them... Prince Blimey, Our Aim is to Satisfy Red
Snapper, It's All Good... because, ahem... it's all good.

If you like Amon Tobin, you'll probably like Snapper. A lot
of ''real'' instruments.

Fuck, izzat it? Nobody else? No info for me? Don't make me
go use google, I'm feeling lazy.

Thanks! Yeah I really like Amon Tobin. Especially with
tracks like "Bridge" and "Slowly". Man oh man! Shit like
that makes my day!

Thank goodness for musicians!

it seems like they "called it quits" just to get out of
their warp contract, as they're on lo recordings now... they
also fed the media some line about not wanting to perform
live anymore, or record regularly.

that antipop consortium vs. matthew shipp thing is weird too
since they supposedly broke up last summer. but i guess
that's why only 2 out of the 3 mc's are on the shipp album.

I love red anapper
I have making bones (excellent)
and our aim is to satisfy (good)

but I dont htink is very much like amon tobin, ok maybe that
point of the "real" instruments is a good thing they might
have in common, but after all redsnapper is very trip hopish
and amon tobin is nearer to drum n bass

i don't think amon tobin plays any "real instruments"...

boneRs

I dont know if he plays them but it sounds more "real" than
those in lets say...confield

I was really quoting ophecks and he used "" so I suppose
that as me he meant that it sounded like, more than he
really played real instruments

I thought they called it quits but that this album was their
last recordings thrown into one.

I saw them live at Lowlands. Great performance. I like the
tracks with the female vocals the most. Not that big a fan
of the rapping though.

The only album missing in my collection is their first (the
one with the red snapper (duh!) on it)

So Red Snapper sounds a bit like Tobin mixed with trip-hop
(dj vadim?or is that more hip-hop?).....

I'll find out when I buy the cd anyway..

Self titled- simply ''Red Snapper''. Signifying a new
beginning on a new label, maybe?
