i dunno... i thought their first album (western freeway) was
only half good. Some brilliant tracks for sure, but
especially towards the end of that album they seem to have
lost their inspiration (imo) and it becomes rather boring.

That actually stopped me from ever listening to the
sophtware slump, even though i love some grandaddy
songs (am 180, summerhere kids, laughing stock, everything
beautiful is far away... some more).

okay... it seems i should give these guys a second chance
then. I'll probably get sophtware slump next time i'm in a
recordstore.

I've just been told i had too many vacation-days left, so my
boss has given me this week off! :-D Might be a good chance
to make a trip to a bigger city with nicer recordstores.

The only thing I've heard by them is their Revolution cover,
and it's awesome. I've been meaning to get some of their
stuff for awhile.

ophecks, I thik you will love this new album then. Most of
the songs are in the same style as that revelation cover.

the software slump is a great album.

crumbs, all these leaked albums i have to d/l, grandaddy,
radiohead, probably the dandy warhols next :)

if you like grandaddy and mercury rev, check out a group
called the kingsbury manx, its in a similar vein.

i love grandaddy.... it was the last bit of western freeway
that I love!! I took your advice, what a beautiful song!

"i took your advice about the microscope,
now i cant find anything, I'd like to see upclose"

*tears*

I've recorded am180 for my music tech coursework. :D

oh, and if any of u lot are on soulseek and like grandaddy -
get the live grandaddy stuff off of me (or raimons :-)).
soooo goood!

I like some grandaddy stuff but have never heard a full
release,

I saw kingsbury manx like with ugly casanova a while ago, it
was pretty good too but seems a different style from
grandaddy to me.
