Im in a new place of living now, and my buddy has a PC and im wondering what i need to run (not system requirements) but what exactly from the "counterstike" files do I specificly need...? I can download them off of Kazaa. |

yah but you can download it, so i need half-life and cs mod to run cs or is there a way to run cs without halflife fully downloaded |

Well they sell CS by itself. Called CS RETAIL but I don't think you can find it online, or atleast I've never seen it. If you just go out and get that halflife thing you get like 5 games aswell so it's almost worth just paying the 15-20$ for it, save you time and hassell. MY advice is if your not going to buy anything and if you JUST want CS search for "CS RETAIL ". Godspeed! |

if you're going to play online, you'll need a cd-key though. thats what you kind of pay for, really. |

well i have the proper retail version, and now i downloaded the official 1.5 update or whatever and it tells me that i need to put it in the right archive, and when i try it doesnt really work, what the hell? |

which update did you get? there are full updates, from version 1.0 (the one you bought) to 1.5 and there are the partial updates - for example, from 1.0 to 1.1 etc. could be you have a 1.4 to 1.5 update. |

well i downloaded the version, and its the basic one, so 1.0 or whatever it was/is. and now i think i do need the full install, but it tells me to put it in the proper directory that "Counter Strike" is installed in. |
