I am stupid. How do you put a regular music cd in a computer and make one of the tracks into an mp3? I looked at the files and they are called "cd audio tracks" instead of "mp3s" and they are only 44 bytes or so.

yeah i think you have to get a program to "rip" the cd to mp3 format, usually you can find one that is a small download.

I find it interesting that sound files can be compressed into 44 bytes after reading how things are compressed. Especially given how compression takes advantage of regularities in the composition, whereas autechre doesn't have much regularity. I don't know anything though.

yeah, the cd audio files must be rather like 44 MB big than 44 bytes big!

ah. Well cdex's option to rip wasn't highlighted (it was unclickable) but all well, I'll just download an mp3 I want off of soulseek instead. BTW there's an autechre interview being shared by someone right now. I havn't heard it yet.
