weed addiction

I have met so many people who says that you can't get
addicted to weed. But I can!

If I smoke just once, I have trouble with dealing with the
fact that I shouldn't smoke again the next day. Then I smoke
again, and the days repeats.

Back in the days when I smoked bong it was worse (and I was
kinda living in denial), but now I only smoke joints, and
every day for the last 8 days I have been smoking a bit of a
joint, just to get high.

Then I was watching Trainspotting yesterday, and my
addiction struck me. Renton shouting out "I just need one
hit to take the pains" made me see that I always ended up
needing one hit too.

I'm really fucking addicted to weed. And I don't even smoke
cigarettes. Fuck! And even though I know that in my heart, I
always end up smoking weed anyway. I LIKE SMOKING WEED.

Have anyone here ever been that addicted to weed?

It's not physical addictive but psychologic...
I have my times when I smoke a lot. Mostly during summer,
for surviving purposes 'cause I detest that season.
But I smoke on a daily base, like people have their glass of
wine in the evening, i have my joint. If the winedrinkers
are alcholics, then I must be weedaddict. :)
Once a year, I smoke nothing for a whole month, just to
convince myself I can live without.
The only dangerous point with weed that I see is when it's
used when your down. It enlarges your feelings and it's so
tempting to be stoned the whole time, just to escape.
But hey, I love smoking weed to. ;)

are u mixing it with tobacco? the combination is far more
addictive than either compound alone.

How can anyone tell you that shit?!
of course you get addicted to weed. I'm brutally addicted.
Once you start to smoke it on working days you're stuck with
it. That's when the real addiction got to me. I'm just as
addicted to smoking as I am to weed.

of fucking course it's addicting...

i'll quit for months at a time and then take one hit and be
smoking everyday for a week and then have to quit cold
turkey again...

Bonging is more addictive - I was hooked on ripping a cone.
It was favourite thing in the world to hear that popping
noise. And it fucking IS physically addictive, I've had the
shakes and cold sweats when I've given up in the past.

cos nicotine alters your brain to make it more receptive to
other drugs, esp drugs like weed and opiates. nicotine is
the number one 'gateway' drug (not weed as so many people
think).
weed and nicotine together it's known medically as a 'super
drug'.

let's just say that you tell yourself you need it
more often than you actually do.

nicotine is addictive, yeah, but actually what i'm talking
about is the longer term effects of nicotine on your brain.
this changes the way other drugs affect you.
otherwise you wouldn't be mixing it.

here in the Netherlands we have the Jellinek clinic, which
is devoted to curing people of all kinds of addictions. and
they have cannabis-groups, which are hugely popular - a LOT
of people are addicted, only the media hardly pay attention
to it.

and the effects of long-time use are evident: loss of
long-term-memory, loss of concentration etc.

i had it dreadfully a few years back

just like mark renton.

i know how it feels, you get frustrated, and resort to
desperate measures

fortunately im over that. i still love to smoke it, and if i
have it i will, but if i dont then i dont mind. you know
what im saying when i say thats a big step from being
addicted.

that's only becuz it's so awesome. i smoked over a pound
last summer and then i got in a wreck. i can't smoke now,
and when i first had to quit i thought it would be hard. it
wasn't though. all i said was 'smoke this joint and get
sent off or wait.' so im waiting. its not hard but i do
long for a joint just cuz there so tasty.

the addiction is mental. people addicted to ciggerettes
actually twitch and get very angry when they don't have a
cigg. ive never felt like that with weed. i just got
anxious.

*stands up*

"my name is phiz and i have been smoking weed for 17 years,
i have had 5 days in that 17 years where i havnt gone to bed
with a joint. I would say I AM addicted to weed, i am a mess
if i have only a few joints left and no chance of getting a
weed in the near future. I now have to cultivate because of
the cost of my habit, i am currently smoking only 2-3
grammes a day, when crop time comes it increases to 10-15
grammes a day. I am trying to ween myself down to a normal
intake of weed but its very tough, very togh in fact, so i
would say i am trying to go through some sort of rehab,
which points to addiction.

my point is, weed IS addictive.

Weed is addictive in the mind. The most addictive physically
is cigarettes and coffe and shit like that. Also, if some
harder drugs like crack is clean, its only psychic addiction
to. But thats still addiction! also addictions seem to work
together. people who are alcoholics cant stop
smoking/drinking coffe and gambling and shit like that.

that said: junktion, efter 3 års biologi i gymnasiet,
overvejer jeg sku at lave et par små"dr. greenthumb"
eksperimenter. Jeg er ikke storforbruger, men mange af mine
venner vil nok betale for lidt hjemmedyrket.

all this sounds familiar. :D
whenever i have some weed i end up smoking it till it's all
gone, like 2 grams quality will last me 4 days. but it's
hard to just keep the weed without smoking it, only rarely
can i keep weed for a day without smoking, but of course if
you can wait a day or two between smokes you get more of the
effect. it's a mental addiction to be sure, just cuz i love
it so much, it's one of my favorite hobbies.

i get kind of a kick out of the few people i know who have
tried weed and didn't like it so they never want to smoke
again, i guess cuz it's such a contrast to my feelings.
"i'm NEVER doin that shit again"
"it didn't do much for me"
"it makes me feel stupid when i'm on it"
