I love minidisc and im a bit gutted that it never replaced cds it would be great to buy all new electronica on minidisc and see minidisc drives on all computors. Q. how many peeps use M.D on this board and do ya think they are better than cds? |

no course its not it sounds different. usually people work with 44.1k uncompressed masters so cd is gonna be nearer that than minidisc with its lossy atrac compression and all.. depends on whether size is more/less important than sound or whatever |

geroge is right i use MD and recording in Lp4 is good and all except for the sound qaulity. i love it also for its sampling |

i just put minidisc recorder in my car so i can record radio when on the move because i always hear cool tunes on breeze block and john peel when im on the road;) plus there easy to post to my mates that are far away. ive also lost many great albums on cd because of scratches, my poor autechre album is dead:( i love glitch but this is crazy . |

I like MD better than cd's aside from the shitty compression they have at the other settings. I used to have one, but I would rather have one of those 20gig mp3 player/recorders. |

minidiscs are a godsend for field recordings/samples. They are often the easiest way to get original weird sounds onto your PC/Mac |

MiniDiscs are great - I love the extra protection cartridge! Great way to back up old tapes... |

glad to see most people embrace minidisc :) i havnt got round to getting one of those new long play mds yet but its on the cards . i have also looked into getting one with a docking station for my mac but no software is ready for osx yet boooo.... |
