everyones gonna say SAW2, but i'd reccommend my 3 tracks on zebox.
I guess thats blowing my own trumpet, but fuck it, most of the music i make is to help me get to sleep, so there.

is there any new stuff about u would describe as ambient? or are new tags like mellow/glitch etc sufficient. reason i ask is i dont hear the word ambient now much unless its about them cheesy ibiza cds i see on telly. but i know loads of people must still dig what would have been called 'ambient' a decade ago cos BOC sell loads of records (and lets face it while im talking like a twatty music journalist they are the 'new orb'). or maybe not but do i even have a point here? i was just thinkin with loads of people still liking it its weird theres no nights to go to. i know if someone did an ambient night round here i'd be straight down there.

You mean Silence, not 76 14 I take it? :-)
Well the mp3 is a compilation of 1-5, but I was just talking about no. 5 (I've got 1 and 2 as well, but not 3 and 4)
Silence V is awwwwesome, especially (IMO) the final track, "Picnic"

hmm what kind of music do you people actually mean when you are talking about 'ambient' music?
i think of music without beats or strong rhythms or at least they are not the focus...

I echo the recommendation about the Hawtin/Namlook From Within series. Also try Edgar Froese's non-Tangerine Dream stuff, like Epsilon in Malaysian Pale.
A lot of people probably wouldn't think of it as ambient, but I'd also say Coil's Time Machines album.
