The homeless

I was going to a coffee shop on my bike to get some weed
today and drove by a homeless asking me if I had some money
for him. I reacted quickly since I was riding my bike and
told him I was only carrying papercash --> 10 euro's for the
weed. I got my drugs and while I was riding back home the
same way as I came I saw the homeless guy again.
I stopped, he asked my again if I had some money. I said I
already got drugs, so he asked me for some weed for a
sticky. I was like: no, drugs is holy!
Though I felt sorry for him, I didn't know why, so I offerd
him 3/4 of my chocolate bar. He took it. I also gave him all
the small cash I was carrying (22 cents).
I've spend the rest of the day trying to figure out why I
did this. Why did I take the time to give this stranger my
chocolate bar and 22 cents, why?!

Because you like to feel superior to people. In offering
him such shit stuff you were able to feel as though you are
his better.

so while you're sparking up, just think about the luxury you
have been given... and think about that man's life. and how
lucky you are to not have to live liek that. this makes me
sick.

go get a job?!?!?!?!?! its kinda hard without a bank
account, social security, or at least a residence. go get a
job? why don't you just reduce it to something like
laziness?

but being homeless is usually just lazyness and unmotivated
behaviour. I've spoken to some of them and they all pretty
much did it to themselves. This man was smoking the last few
centimetres of his joint, I find that a high luxury for a
homeless.

Yes, I find it quite cheeky for homeless people to ask for
money whilst they're actually smoknig a joint in front of
you.

And there are jobs available that are "cash in hand" that
you can just lie about your address for. I've done some in
the past.

i try to give people money

you can usually tell who the good homeless people are,
there's this war veteran in my town with these bad ass
dreads down to his ass, i usually give him money. once i
gave him a dollar on xmas eve i think. and then i got home
and felt really bad cause i should've given him 5 bucks
instead.

what the fuck am i going to do with it, probably buy soda.

i disagree with this. in the u.s., we give people money for
nothing. its called welfare, and it is crap. i've seen
people liek busta rhymes on welfare. its bs. but a person
liek this cant even get welfare. its a travesty. one mistake
can ruin a man's life. then he ceases to be a man. he is
refered to OH SO KINDLY as a "homeless"?????? this is
sickening.

homeless fellas are strange. One of em once asked my dad for
money, he said it was for a cup of coffee and some cake. My
dad offerd him to go with him and have a coffee together. He
refused this.

All homeless people should be rounded up and their healthy
organs used for medical science. If they are too ill to be
any use, then they should be put to sleep and their bodies
disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

no-one should be homeless in my country. There's this little
tiny chance to get homeless here without being lazy. It's
very unlikely.

Indeed, that was my conclusion. Homeless are alcohol and
drug addicts. They can get food @ a homeless place. They
money's always for drugs or cheap beer.

Also I am very comfy and cozy in my life thank you :)

How much of your time to you devote to helping the
homeless?

It is very easy to be a sanctimonious prick about these
things, but at the end of the day, unless you spend your
time actually helping these people you are no better than
me. It is pointless replying saying that you spend your
week delousing the scum, because if you really did you would
have mentioned it before.

Regardless of my view, or your view, we probably do exactly
the same to help them. I bet you feel so proud of yourself.

if a homeless person asked me for money and i had some and i
was in a not-so-shy mood, I'd (in my mind) go buy him food.

in the UK u can always tell them about the big issue, they
can make their own money from that.

i do feel guilty tho, i never do anything... but then again,
i dont talk to ANYONE when im in town. head-down and walk as
fast as possible... :-/

I'm really poor, and I'm on benefits, yet I always give
money to a homeless person when I can -- It's alright to be
snide and judgemental towards them, but when you're safely
tucked up at home, the heating on, watching a DVD, playing
your console, these people are sleeping in shitty places, in
doorways, suffering destitute lives - you don't know their
situation, or what happened to make them homeless - try and
help them without judging them you heartless fuckers. This
is meant to be a society, not a mishmash of individuals
trying to make it to the top of the hill just for the sake
of being at the top of a hill.

You know, there are people out there sitting on BILLIONS of
pounds/dollars -- that's multiples of a thousand million
pounds/dollars--without even denting their wallet, they
could feed, house, clothe, employ, HELP the homeless -- and
yet it's usually down to people who aren't rich to help them
- says a lot about "society"

Yes it says that the more you earn the less you have to be
bothered with the leeches on "society"

Besides there is no such thing as "society", only
individuals and their families.

most of them probably didn't "earn" their millions &

priviliged backgrounds than the majority of homeless people.

Whenever a homeless person asks me for some money, and i
have some on me... i always think: 'he probably needs it
more than me', and i give him something.

Such a small amount of money (50 cents, sometimes a euro)
means almost nothing to me (and i am by no means a rich
guy), but a whole lot to a homeless man/woman. I don't buy
into the whole laziness-argument... most of these people
have just been less fortunate than us.

one time though, i didn't have alot of money on me, so i
just gave him everything that was in my wallet (lots of
small coins), and he gave back the 1cent and 2cent-coins...
"i can't use those" lol ;-) That was kinda fucked up.

You know some of them are ripping you off, but i really do
believe most of them need every penny they can find.
