Not just the recent antics of JAroen and Rephlexual, the
constant bitching, Long running petty fueds of members,
spamming etc.

I really thought a lot more highly of the people here.

I could ban everyone who is being a dick at the moment, but
there'd be very few people left...

I am with you on that,Ceri.

Nobody replies to anything remotely music related.
Ceri, you guys should take much stronger action.I know it
shouldn't have to come to this, but It is much-needed.

I don't flea.. but I would rather you kept your anti
war stuff to one thread. I understand you feel very strongly
about it, but the sheer quantity of threads could be
considered spamming. Please keep it to one thread, thanks
mate.

yes ban flea!

only joking, what would be good is if there was a ban on all
topics relating to the war, they all end up with arguaments.
How about closing any war topics started, or just as soon as
they get out of hand?

maybe it's aphextwin.nu spirit that has left us. Back in the
days when there was in fact an aphextwin.nu website.
Since the delay of xltronic it's just the mb, maybe it's
missing some kind of website spirit. We need xltronic to
produce more quality topics =)
Maybe it'll give back the feeling to this mb.

maybe, but I'm talking about the spirit back when

been posting as much here as I did in the .nu times, just

What do you want me to do? Ban people because they have a
different POV?

I've asked flea to stop making new war topics and if it
persists I will have to take other action.

It's not just the war topics. Bitchy little comments
attached to every post in a "rival's" thread (not talking
about flea now), I feel there is too much crap to sort out.
I feel like someone trying to fight back a tide using a
bucket.

I know people will see it as an echo of planet-mus board,
but it's getting so bad that I almost feel the site should
be closed for a while to give people a chance to cool off.

thanks Ceri, its better than nothing. I just wish there were
no topics at all about the war, this is meant to be a music

from the war only to see most threads on it!

Is it possible to just close any topics started relating to
the war?

This looks to me like some prowar people are uncomfortable
with the differing points of view...btw there is a war going
on and blacking out topics on war is turning a blind eye to
reality. I remember polling a Xltronic poll about the war.
Its seems to me that people may just be uncomfortable with
the fact that the media proproganda is at its highest...I
will note here that some electronic artists such as Aphex
Twin, Autchere, Massive Attack as well as Warp with its
Bushwacked are making statements about this illegal war. War
is on the psyche of the entire world and more so on the
minds of writers, artists, poets, actors and musicans. Being
more sensitive to the human condition as a rule.

With respect Red, I know you and flea see me as pro war.
That fact has nothing to do with why I said no more
anti war topics... I love architecture (shit, this is going
to sound like a crack att Nacmat, it's not!), but if every
other thread was about it a similar ruling would be made. As
I said, this is, ultimately a music board. Some deviation
from topics is to be expected and tolerated, it's when the
board becomes about something else entirely it becomes a
problem.

Because of the huge diversity in POV on this matter amongst
members the war topics fuel flame wars among members. If you
(and that goes to the pro war camp too) must insist on
debating it here, keep it to the existing topics. It's
unfair to expect people who have no interest in war to have
to trawl through so many topics (which are ultimately about
the same thing) to find "normal" ones.

Ceri I have deep respect for you as a moderator and we both
respect your opinions on any topic and agree that the board
is looking a bit like a war zone itself...its looks to me
just a little unfair that the people complaining about it
the most are the pro war people it could look as if you
could be seens asfavoring their wish to suppress anything
they dont want to hear (pantalimon and his tempoary ban idea
in particular) but I think it is a good idea to keep these
discussions to a few threads to optimise the boards
efficiency...I think the biggest problem you have right now
is the annoying, bandwidth chewing empty threads and the
attempts to undermine the coding of the board...exercising
some bans in this area may alleviate this problem with the
board going to shit...

I think also people need a break and need to calm down

Perhaps you're right- I think the number of "nonsense"
threads are the real problem...

I can understand that it could look like I was stopping the
war threads as a way of silencing your POV. Whilst I can see
that, I don't by any stretch of the imagination think that
being able to delete threads here etc. is any sort of power-
it's not like people are going to think the war is justified
as a result of not seeing any of the anti war argument just
because I limited the war threads here.

I hope Flea knows I wouldn't ban him without a warning first
and he has my word that I won't provided there aren't any
new war threads created, at least for a while...
